hose hanging down near differential

i looked under my 95 240sx and say a small black hose haning down near the differntial, i went under the car and connected it up where it belongs

here is a pic of where it connets to it allitle more up you cant see it in the pic



what line was this??

also btw i smelled gas near the rear passenger side wheel when the cars running.

that line leads into the chassis/no where. it's a simple vent tube for the diff.

I have mine connected to the diff but disconnected from the chassis and ziptied in place so it doesn't leak into my chassis.

the gas you're smelling can be your gas lines.
Remove the rear pass wheel. check all those hoses.

check your tank for leaks, its not uncommon for an s14 tank to get a crack in it.

yeah i know the previous owner changed the gas tank cause he cracked the old one, but i don't think he changed the gas tank gasket, could this be the cause faint smell of gas?
