Sigh... effing seller told me the car was built as a stock manual.... wow...

I could be asking this in the single question thread but since this is open, i'd mind as well ask now..
What are the disadvantages between a true manual vs. a converted manual?

I tried doing the search but it comes up as a blank page for me.. :S

If it's done correctly, there are no disadvantages at all. The only "disadvantages" come when the person doing the conversion is lazy (i.e. not wiring up reverse lights, cutting the brake pedal instead of just installing one from a manual, etc.)

Anyway, I was just thinking that that plug could be from the neutral safety switch or the over drive setting button from the auto shifter. I converted my previous s14 from auto to manual and i remember i had plug like that left over, but i cant remember if it was that one exactly so i could be wrong. It's been years since i did that.

Fyi, my current s14 was manual from the factory and it drives exactly the same as my old converted car. The only difference is that with the auto to manual conversion, you dont have a speed cut off....which is actually more of an advantage. lol
