...with that said, if you've got the cash, throwing a set of forged CP's in there (on stock rods, totally fine) isn't a bad idea in terms of reliability. One bad tank of gas could be the difference in chipping a stock piston, so the Forged piston is 'cheap insurance' sort to speak

i'd think to go with an s15 gt28r for a 300-330whp street car it's a really fun/instant boost turbo

Enthalpy sent me two more tunes which was nice of him... but the car still is still at 10-11 afr at idle and cruising. I mean, when you first start the car it runs 14 afr for a few seconds then it goes back to 10afr. It feels a little better @ WOT but I just hate the fact that its 10-11afr while idling and cruising.
I guess I should start saving for a standalone. ![]()

Check the wires from both the o2 sensor and the widebands sensor.
If either wire gets too hot, it somehow fucks with the current flowing through the wires and causes it to go hay wire. Happend to me. I wasted so much time and money on a wire that was too close to my engine block...so dumb. I'm assuming you've checked all your fuel pressure also?

Toda cams should get you there, just need to ensure the rest of the setup is good!

^I wouldn't get an ECU flash, I'd get a proper management system. Vipec>Motec>Haltec>AEM in that order (IMO).
Basically whoever is doing your tuning, take it to him and ask him what management he wants to use. AEM has lots of internet support, but Vipec units have some amazing auto tune features. See Youtube.

Alright, I should've waited until this weekend before I posted that. I need some time to diagnose some things because the tune he sent me was exactly my old tune. I will check the 02 sensors, mafs, plugs and make sure there isn't any leaks. I will keep you updated.

![]() This prob has been covered numerous times in the thread already. I've always been a 2560R fan and never really looked at 2871R's. From some dyno graphs posted, i appears setups with stock cams and stock intake manifolds are pretty much restricted to 300-320whp?
Finally. This is the first time i've seen this on the internet =D Kudos.

went to the track the other day and got a pretty decent run with my stock turbo. now its time to find a 2871 and complete my setup and see what i do.
13.7@103 with a 2.1 second 60ft on street tires with an open diff. not bad for my first time ever dragracing... |

@Creeper: I run those cams on my 2871 .86 turbo.
Benefit is that the air the turbo is pumpin at high boost (1.4 bar) is actually getting into the engine instead of being restricted by the oem cams. I like them and stockish idle.

Question, whats the max amount of boost this turbo can handle? i see most people run between 20-22 psi, is that because its the max efficiency of the turbo, or is it limited elsewhere. IE if i ran e85+meth could i safely run higher boost?
im just looking at options and wondering if its worth moving to top feed msd injectors instead of trying to find some sard or nismo 750's |

I sent you a pm, my ECU is tuned for the same parts you have currently instaled...
A JWT or similar ecu tune will be perfect, read some of the thread and you will see cody made his 400 hp on a ecu tune. not a stand alone you are not able to get that much more power by getting a stand alone unit, hell,, you might actually even get less if your tuner is not that great. you will be fine with JWT or similar tuners, no need to go spend $1000's for a stand alone, then a few more hundred to get it tuned.... if your not competing in pro races or pushing 450+ whp.

Props for honesty and making it clear that it was not their fault. and as for setups the things i regret in mine are the freddy intake it just doesnt help response. and staying with nismo side feeds no more side feeds for me. bosch ev14s cheap and awesome.and no 3 inch intercooler piping. |
