I'm gonna cast a couple of agreements here and throw in some of my personal favorites for when I am maybe even a little drunk (don't get high)
nokeone: You are DEAD right about Mel Brooks movies, but my personal favorite of them is "Blazing Saddles," in fact, I may down a 12 and watch that today... Speaking of Mel Brooks movies, don't forget "History of the World, pt. I."
sykikchimp: YOU hit the nail on the head with Kevin Smith's "New Jersey Trilogy," which was actually 5 movies long; "Clerks," "Mallrats," "Chasing Amy," "Dogma," and "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back..." If anyone ever has a weekend day and about 12 hours on your hands, watch them all in order and each movie will become progressively funnier because of running jokes that follow the series right to the last couple of minutes of the last movie.

...Personally, I find myself watching Monty Python movies, like "The Life Of Brian" and "Monty Python and The Holy Grail," really good movies full of slapstick humor that people under the influence generally find amusing.

Another movie that I almost always HAVE to be drunk to watch is "Freddie Got Fingered," which is only moderately funny sober, but will almost make you piss yourself when intoxicated... Last thing, I like to watch funny stuff when I'm drunk, so I find myself watching standup and here's a LIST for you;
Eddie Murphy: "Raw" and "Delirious"
Richard Pryor: "Live in Concert" and "Live on Sunset Strip"
Dave Chappelle: "Killing Them Softly"
Jaimee Foxx: "I Might Need Security"
Def Comedy Jam: "Allstars" (look here to find a 17 year-old Chappelle's introduction to the world "SHIRLEY'S TAKIN A SHIT) and there are several volumes of this one.
Steve Harvey: "One Man"
George Carlin: (come on, this dude is 66 years old, just pick something)
Martin Lawrence: "You So Crazy" (just out on DVD recently) and "Runteldat"
"The Original Kings of Comedy" (especially better when intoxicated, and my sister was in ATTENDENCE when they shot the movie in Charlotte)
***NOW JUMP IN THE WAYBACK MACHINE***
Does anyone remember back in the late 80's when Robert Townsend had 2 HBO specials called "Partners in Crime?" Well, a few months ago, I thought about them and actually FOUND them online and ordered them and find myself sitting and watching them all the time and laughing harder than I did the first time. These specials are what I would now pinpoint as what touched off the careers of the WHOLE Wayans' family, David Alan Grier, Sinbad and a lot of our other favorite comedians and are a good thing to get a hold of, you an get them on half.com, that's where I copped them...

... I still have my favorite movies that are not comedies and I don't necessary have to be under the influence to watch. My FAVORITE movie is "The Usual Suspects" and "Training Day" is a close second. I also find myself watching "Casino" and "Enter the Dragon" a lot too. More of my favorites include (of course) "Scarface" and I can't quite seem to stop watching "Swordfish" (something about seeng a TVR and Halle Berry's tits in the same movie makes for GREAT cinema)

Damn, that was a bit of a mouthful, sorry about that, but Steeles is probably the only individual I know personally with more DVDs than I have (I WANT MY ALI BACK, BITCH!!!) so conversations about things like this, movies and music and such, generally draw my attention well enough to get me to speak out... That will be all for now, respond as you like.
