do any of you guys play with the racing line and drivers aids? I think i laughed at my friend who is a car guy, always keep that stuff on.. i turn it all off and turn the music off as well.

I use the racing line if I'm in a serious race but don't know the track. All aids/tcs off, but ABS set at 1.
Sidenote: Does anyone else think the Racing Hard tires are a complete useless joke? With the new 'Suspend Race' feature, I'm taking my first whack at the Endurance Races using a F1-esque two pit stop strategy. I started on Racing Softs to build up a nice lead before switching to Racing Hards for the majority of the race. Surprisingly, the Racing Softs lasted 20 laps with still a little life in them on my Gran Turismo 350Z RS. I switched to the Racing Hards and (predictably) there was less grip. What was really crazy though is that they lasted even shorter time than the Racing Softs! 20 laps on them and they were totally cooked. I was hoping for at least 30 laps on the hards... |

i have been checking the used car dealer for one for the past week i'll be on tonight are they still in the online dealer? ill be looking for that room teddy... i've never "raced" online just drift. do you guys race or drift or both? sounds like fun!! add me! tek18b_jimmy

whats the name of the room and under which type of race. race for real or race for fun? what time and power settings are usually set? i have the car maxed out power wise and its tail happy with racing soft tires, even with a little traction control on!!

Hey guys, got any tips on driving a car with 0 ABS on a controller? I lock up the tires way too easily. Does 0 ABS really make a big difference in speed versus ABS set at 1?

^^^Yeah... I gave up on trying to drive with 0 ABS. Impossible on a controller.
So lately, I've been making Silvia vs Z vs GTR rooms. Had some fun races, but no one has really taken advantage of my rules yet (anything short of a full racecar is allowed, even Nismo, Mines, Amuse and RM cars). Most just complain that my 500pp limit is too low for them to just bring their hack R35 GTR. No one has pulled out anything interesting like the HKS Genki Hyper Silvia, 270R, S/Z tune Z33, etc... When we talked about this idea months ago, I thought there's no way the Silvia's could keep up with the modern Z's at the same PP limit. I was wrong! S13's will have a hard time, but S15's keep up just fine! Not sure about S14's yet. Also, had a blessing in disguise this week: I lost my premium Z32 drag racing it for pinks online...lol No big loss. I bought another one, rebuilt it from the ground up and it is VASTLY superior to my last Z32. No more crazy understeer combined with useless wheelspin! Still not the fastest, but it's my new favorite. Oh and for ppl still looking for surprisingly fast, but overlooked cars: My newly built 500pp Z32 got it's ass handed to it by a 476PP SW20 MR2 G-Limited on Tokyo Route. It was bad. Really bad. I broke out my fastest 500PP, non-M3 car to challenge the guy again. My RX8, it kinda keeps up with M3 CSL's and NSX Type R's. This guys G-Limited MR2 pushed me to the ragged edge the entire race and he still squeaked out the win, but just barely. I asked him if he was on a steering wheel. He said no, all controller. Very impressive. |

Good info. I gotta start building my cars up for racing. I'd probably be fine if I cared about the races more. I just don't feel like buying half the cars you have to have let alone putting money into mods for them. Guess I'll just have to bite the bullet so I can get mroe stuff.

I got a shit ton of cars, man. Duplicates of some rare ones and still on the hunt for more. I miss the days when you could makes millions of dollars off the seasonal races...
Now, whenever I can't find good racing online, I just take a nicely tuned 500pp street car to either the Supercar Festival Seasonal Race or the N/A Tuning Championship in the Expert class. Depending on your tuning and driving skill, the computer may give you a surprising run for your money. When you see the R390 road car or the S2000 GT1 turbo on the track, you better bring your A game or get your ass handed to you... |
