jDm tYte its the hOtness y0 fo' sure!!!

So bascially other than bragging rights of "yo I got dem skyline brakes..." theres not point to them? If they are the same, then the 300zx 30mm brake pads work?

There is a difference between the GT-ST and GT-R brakes if you want to be specific. The GT-R uses a brembo. 300zx uses a 280x30mm rotor size.

Upon searching, here's some better size info:
350Z standard brakes:
Rotor size 296mm x 24mm
Nissan 2 pot calipers, same pads as 91-02 Maxima

300ZX (Z32) brakes:
Rotor size 280mm x 30mm
Nissan/Sumitomo 4 pot calipers

R32 GT-R brakes (sold through Nismo USA as "Skyline" brakes):
Rotor size 296mm x 32mm
Nissan/Sumitomo 4 pot calipers, same pads as Z32

350Z track model brakes:
Rotor size 324mm x 30mm
Brembo 4 pot calipers, same pads as R33/R34 GT-R, BMW 850

Talking

(skyline)296mm x 32mm uses the same pad as (300zx)280mm x 30mm ??? Hmm are you sure?

Anybody know about clearence issues with the skyline caliper vs. Z32 or brake lines? How to hook it up...

Because of the larger caliper size the skyline caliper SHOULD disspate heat faster even though its using the same pad??

Hmm...Z32 rotors work with skyline calipers?

I didn't see where that was said, but I wouldn't doubt it. The calipers are identical appearance-wise, the Skyline caliper is just 2mm wider to accomodate the rotor.

The calipers are 2mm wider, so clearance is similar. Most wheels that clear Z calipers will clear Skyline calipers. They hook up the same as Z calipers.

The caliper itself is only a fraction larger (only in width) than the Z caliper. The rotor on the other hand will have better heat capacity (because of increased mass) and quicker heat dissipation (because of increased surface area).

Probably, but what's the point? There is no point. Why pay extra money for a 4-piston caliper that's designed for rotors 2mm wider, when you can get an identical 4-piston caliper that's designed for the rotor you'll be using. The Skyline rotor is the best part of it's braking system, and if you're not using that then it's not worth it to get Skyline calipers IMO.

i notice that getting the calipers from a skyline is much cheaper than getting the ones off a z32.... they have a complete set on ebay right now going for $250 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEBWA%3AIT and only one person bid on it.

my friend swaped skyline brakes on his z32 and he needed a spacer for his stock wheels. so i think there is a difference in wheel clearence. Im really glad he got them because now i have his old brakes and his old wheels=)
