My experience has been great with them. People do complain that work/volk etc original lips are stronger. but my lips for my bbs look and feel solid.

They look the same as some new german lips i have also that cost almost double. I wouldnt be surprised if they buy it from them honestly.

Their new lips are actually made locally in the U.S and are stronger and lighter than all Japanese made lips/barrels. I'll post more info about this later on our blog.

I'm personally not into the big lip look on my own car, however the fact remains you guys do some spectacular work with those wheels. Nice stuff!

Help Calculate Wheel Offset

I hope this is the right place to post this.

I have a pair of 18x8 +42 inch Racing Harts C2s that i would like to get new outter lips for. the lips are 40 hole lip. Effectivly i want a 9.5 or 10 wide wheel.

Here is a Picture to try and illustrate what size lips i have

Im pretty sure the lips i have now are only 1 inch lips given you are supposed to measure the width of a rim from bead to bead, so the curved edge seen in the pic above shouldnt be measured (please correct me if im wrong)

Again my Wheels are 18x8 +42 as of current

Here are my Calculations (provided i do have a 1 inch lip) If i add a 3 inch lip to my existing face and barrels i will be adding (-24) offset to the wheel which would make my wheels 18x10 +18.

(please correct me if i am wrong)

and 10 wide may be too wide so i was thinking just adding a Lip that is just 1.5 wider or a total of 2.5 wide which would give me 18x9.5 +25.

Any help will be much appreiciated

Thanks!

BTW heres the reason im getting a pair widened, i <3 Cali Freways

It'd be 18x9.5 +22, not 25.

I forgot to divide the difference of the witdh, thanks

in an attempt to make this less confusing:

18x8+42 wheel + outter lip that is 2 inches wider than existing lip = 18x10 +18.

18x8+42 wheel + outter lip that is 1.5 inches wider than existing lip = 18x9.5 +22

^^^ if my calculations are correct

Thanks for all the help

Thanks for all the help
Easy way to remember is every
.5" of bigger lip = 6.35mm of lower offset
.5 of bigger barrel = 6.35mm of higher offset
.5" smaller lip = 6.35mm of higher offset
.5" smaller barrel = 6.35mm of lower offset

3 x 6.35 = 19.05 (just say 19 or 20 to make it easy).
stock +42 - 20 = 22

and then the 10s would be 18x10 +16

offset is calculated by the centerline (half of total width of wheel including wheel beads (1" larger than listed width, so a 10" wheel is actually 11" from outside bead to outside bead)) and the position of the mounting pad of the center. You can't just simply subtract or add offset to the outer lip alone. You need to take into account the total width of the wheel to determine centerline.
