yeah i dont have p/s on my 240 right now and its a pain in the ass. im trying to find if the problem is the pump or rack. i really dont wanna replace the rack, thats gonna suck. but i was trying to tell this one fuck that you would want p/s and his only argument was that a real drifter would want to feel the car.

Who ever you were talkin to is an idiot. There are no benefits to removing p/s on an s-chassis, especially when drifting. Maybe in the extreme case where someone had a custom manual rack made, with one of those steering quickener setups so it's only 1 turn from lock to lock, but I have yet to see anyone even pursue this course in a 240.

nate brasz has a custom rack in his car. and yes it's like 1 turn lock to lock. i have no clue what it is , but i've seen him drive it here on the east coast and the wheel barely spins (or so it seems) while he's driving.

Aasbo was running the steering rack on his TC before having it switched back to normal. In my opinion it gives more room for error (smaller window for adjustment vs having 900 degrees).

I've driven a corolla and a 240 with no power steering. the corolla had a manual rack, the 240 how no powersteering. In the corolla it is do-able...but I wouldn't choose it over power steering.

In the 240...it fucking blew. Thanks Teddy for that experience.

you can watch Aasbo at atlanta in car with that modified steering. I had to call him when I first saw it cause I've never seen it before. Pretty interesting to watch...looks like it would only be really useful in maybe a grip situation?

CLEARLY he doesn't drift. You can feel all you need to feel with power steering in the S-chassis. I would remove it if my intent was to look like Popeye. Outside of that, that's a reTARded move.
