Alright here's the deal. I blew the hg on my s14 sr and upon further inspection it seems the coil packs have cracked(from the heat?). Now I have looked around for some on ebay and other forums and have found a few for sale. The question is....whats the diff in coilpack b/c I see some that can be used for an s13/s14 black top(weren't all s14's blacktops) and I saw one on FA for an s15 sr but the seller states that it will work on an s14 but not the s13/s14 coilpacks...wth? I pm'ed the seller and posted in his thread, w/no response, and I just want to know the diff. between these coil packs.

all sr coil packs are the same so are the rb and vg30 from the z32 nissan is cheap like that

You cannot use S15 coil packs on an S14/S13 because they dont use a ignitor chip they have indivdual ignitors built in.S15 coils are hard to come by I know I looked for a long time after I burnt one of mine out.

I wish I would have seen this post earlier I could have gotten a full set for cheap.

Hi, I have two question;

I want to use s14 sr20det on s15 coil packs?

1-s14 sr20det (97) black top + Aem Ems 1 Ecu + s15 oem coil pack is it working on sr20det?

2-s14 sr20det (97) black top + s14 oem Ecu + s15 oem coil pack is it working on sr20det?

I'm pretty sure the stock S14 ECU cant run the S15 coilpack due to them being different (no ignitor chip on the S15s). Why are intent on using S15 coilpacks on an S14 engine? Also, better question is, what wiring harness are you using?
