KA riddle me this... harness question..

i got an hks turbo timer type 1, with a feature that measures your 0-60, 1/4 mile, etc. here's the weird pard. the factory service manual says that the vehicle speed sensor wire on the ecu (position 26 on the harness) should be yellow green. on mine, its brown white... tried tapping into that wire, for the speed function on the turbo timer, and nothing happens. turbo timer shows 0 no matter what. i checked the service manuals for the 95 96 97 98 240sx, and the wire position and color is the same. my 97 240 for some reason has a different wire color, and aparently function. btw, its still a ka motor in my car.. i'm stomped.. there are two other wires that are yellow green on my harness, one's for the EVAP canister control valve, the other one's not sure. tried tapping that one, shows speed, but its waay off..... any ideas??? please help!! thanks in advance. and oh yea, btw, i'm not colorblind.

try tapping it from the gauge cluster. Look at page 78 in the Electrical System section of the 97 240 fsm.

yea i tried tapping into each one of those wires on the gauge cluster, wires 25 and 26. nothing happened. i'm stomped. actual speedometer on the car works just fine, well so far, i'll probably screw it up after messing with all these wires.... i still have no clue why my harness would be so different from what the fsm shows...
