ATTENTION! Z31/Altima Rotor Rear Brake Owners! : 240sx General Discussion

Even if it turns out it was their fault, I would rather use calipers with the rotors they were intended for.

Just got a Z31 caliper and hub from the wrecking yard to test fit once my 5-lug junk comes in.
Hey Matej, I was the one who originally figured out the Z31 brake setup and did an actual write up on FA. Codyace just ripped off my article and posted it here as his own. But I've had my stock caliper with a Q45 rotor on for atleast 4 years now with no problem. Any questions PM me and I can guide you through it. Although the whole write up is on FA under best of 240sx.

As a side note, would it be possible for an admin to put my name in codyaces rip off write up? That way give credit where it's due.

Please feel free to post it up on here. Sounds intriguing.

The 330mm kit that MAX sells is a great idea. However, to be honest I would prefer it to be a simple OEM-looking rotor, instead of fake two-piece. Plus the price is a bit out there. Although 326 Power sells the same kit at twice the cost.

On YAJ there are kits for a 302mm rotor, but I am not sure what car the rotor is from. Most likely something not readily available here, or custom. And they actually cost even more than the MAX kit.

I posted it above. But I'll post it again:

My brake setup now is:

front:
q45 mounting bracket with altima calipers
Carbotech pads(q45 obviously)
(yes altima calipers will fit on q45 mounting bracket. Just have to be creative with the slider pins)
This gives me a thicker rotor and not so much piston surface area so the brakes don't lock up as bad.

Rear:
z31 mounting bracket with stock s13 rear caliper.
92 Q45 rotor
Carbotech pads
