Bought a SR20 head, but need some help

I recently bought a head complete with tomei cams, and cam gears.

But when I received it I found some issues... seems some wear on cams, rockers and on (1) cam journal. Also found some odd damage.

Here are some pics.

WTF?

I feel this is odd cam wear

Worn Rockers?

Cam Journel wear?

Bent Stud

I have 4 rockers arms I feel are worn below spec and in connection with that tore up some of the cam lobes. But feel like the head isn't in "perfect" shape as told

Sucks item is so heavy.... and seller is so shady, already have a claim open as it wasn't shipped until I filed it

Include the damage in that claim. If they stated item was "perfect" they lied. Rockers can. E replaced. That can wear is pretty severe, but main concern is that cam journal. You may be able to lightly sand that out, but should be done with caution.

Those cams are really worn out, they won't have anywhere near the same performance.

Ironically enough, the whole reasoning to buying another head was worn cam journals, so slightly... pissed.

those are worn because solid lifters were not used with the tomei 270 cams that are in there.

worn rocker arms from not enough clearance, also the motor TICKS from slapping without solid lifters. whoever sold you that and told you it was OKAY to run and not an issue really fucked you.

take some wd-40 and some 2000 grit sandpaper to that cam journal. Lose the cam, get a new one, new rockers, and deck the head. That damage to the front of the head, I wouldn't worry too much as its not in the vital part where it needs to seal (around the piston and water ports)

I'd just be cautious on why it has that much damage. Shitty oil pump or clogged oil lines/drippers can be the issue.

yeah, looks like this head got some oil starvation. cams are f*cked but you really can't do anything cheap/reliable to the cam journals on head.
i think that damage in the chain area shows that this previous engine had pretty nasty failure including broken chain and other nasty things. i suggest finding a fresh head to play with.
