drilling a couple of 3/16 holes next to each other on the thermostat will make bleeding the cooling system much easier and quicker. make sure the holes are on top(12 o clock) when you install the thermostat back in the housing.

That's what the bleeder screw on top of the intake manifold is for. Arp studs should be fine just go to arp website and look up all the specs your asking for.
