Paying almost half a mil for almost 80hp more than last gtr. Don't seem right to me, i was expecting a 800+hp monster. IMO

What don't you understand about "GT3 racecar"? The power output is LIMITED due to the FIA GT3 rules. People seem to think that this is some kind of a toy for rich people. It's NOT a toy. This is a factory racecar for people looking to compete in the FIA GT3 class. This is a TOOL developed by Nissan to win in international competition.

they are RACECARS, as in like races ya know? not hooptie drift cars with open rules.
I know people who spend 100k+ on oval track late models.

they aren't paying for the car itself, but all of the R&D that goes into making it the fastest it can possibly be within a VERY specific set of rules.

Socialist GT3 racing isn't what we'd call real racing.

Obviously because the power output has been spec'd to a certain number he feels its somehow political and socialistic.

I guess with that kind of assumption all spec racing would be socialist which would have to include GP2 (feeder series for F1) Formula Ford, Formula Atlantic, Indy Car etc... the list would go on for days.

I mean people have always commented on decisions in motorsports being political but to just randomly call a series socialist is quite a leap.

GT3 is an amateur race series where people buy preassembled "GT3 Certified" race cars and take them out racing. It's designed to provide an even amount of media coverage for all drivers giving everyone a "chance" to win.

They individually balance the field by weight penalties. The better you do, the larger the weight penalty you take on for the next race until you finish like 4th or lower. Check out the rules. Basically if you win, they slow your car down until you can't win. The idea is so that everyone gets a turn at air time and the front of the field instead of one guy out spending the others.

Then there's what they call "performance balancing". Which allows them to adjust the output of specific cars to maintain the "competitive spirit" of the field. This allows them to take a audi r8, a lambo lp600, mercedes SLS amg, along with a ferrari 458 and all make them lap relatively close to each other. So if a Ferrari wins the first two races, especially in a dominating fashion, then they will turn down the output of the engines. If GT-R's are back markers, then they'll turn them up until they do well.

The car can not be modified from nissan gt3 trim and engines must come from nissan and ECU tune is supplied by the series. You buy that "kit" from nissan, and you can play in their series which is limited to amateurs who pay their entry fees. The cars are pretty close to street. They come with heat/AC, defrosters, power steering, etc.

I.E. Spec racing. Oh and it is real racing. Just because there are planned out specs does not mean its not real racing. Just because amateurs can compete does not mean its not real racing. In fact all of what you wrote above does not make it non real racing.

This does not pertain to it being Socialist. Seriously dude your comment was over reaching, give it up.

You made a wild statement. Based off your own political beliefs.

i didnt fuck up anything. whatcya talkin bout wookie.

im enjoying the banter.

it makes it more fun. there will always be haters. and everyone interprets things differently.

I posted it because i liked it and figured others would too.

I dont post in premium members section because there is no difference between premies and general pop anymore. The only difference is $10.

In the beginning premies were special and deserving.

I know who the true "premium members" are. They are still part of the general pop

It is IMPOSSIBLE to relate racing to socialism. The guy with the most money almost always wins, regardless of the rulebook. That's PURELY capitalist, which is the OPPOSITE of socialist. Also, racing is ALWAYS REAL. At ANY level, professional or amateur. Only someone with little understanding and no experience could call racing not REAL in any form.
