This bov really looks like a cheap SSQV knockoff, and like all knockoffs, leaks.
3 Solutions: 1/ bin it. The CA doesnt need one anyway, unless you did fit a big turbo on it.big means "bigger than a T28/GT2560R", and run it on more than 1/1.2bar boost. 2/ recirc it. This way even if it leaks at idle, it will still be ok, the air will be passing through the maf before entering. 3/ replace it with the real deal (yes, they are expensive, for a reason: they are designed not to leak, dual piston push pull whatever system, point is it works . And they make a fancy sound) I went with the recirc route because i was tired being rich on idle, and having smog issues. Mine is a greddy type RS. There is quite a bit of work involved though. WIll get pics if you want. BTW you might want to bin that fancy "air filter" and fit a proper filter if you value your turbo and engine. These are known to filter quite nothing... My tuner showed me a gt28r that was used with these filters, the compressor wheel fins are all sanded on half of their surface. Get a dry type filter, it works well with AFMs and wont hinder the flow (my CA is in the 300++ range and is working with one of these) |
