Thanks for the suggestions guys, I was able to take everything apart last night. I am very confused by what I found. All wiring is in working order and the fuel level sender works fine when it is pulled out of the tank. This lead me to think that the sender arm was just getting caught up on something as suggested above. After working on it for awhile I noticed that I had to put pressure on the pump hanger to get it to line up with the holes on the top of the tank. It seems as though the pump hanger is making contact with the metal baffling inside the tank. Has anyone ever heard of a problem like this?? I'm thinking about trying to bend the metal baffling a bit to take the pressure off the hanger/level sender but I'm not sure if that will work.
