there is a drain plug on the bottom and a fill plug on the side. you go buy a $5 pump, stick it in the fluid container and pump away. or you take off the shifter and pour in through there.

Why is this in chat. Ever heard of tech talk. lol.
Anyways. Heres the deal.
Pull the drain fill plug out the side of the tranny. Then pull the shifter out. Be carefull not to tear the boot or else you will leak fluid in the future. It uses 2 c clips. Then just pour tranny oil in until it starts pouring out the side. Make sure the car is on level ground. Put the plug and shifter back in and your done.

And your $5 richer :hammer:

Take the shifter out ? for tranny fulid .. too much work.
Just pump it up through the filler plug ... plug it when fulid starts to drip on your fat face.

btw, luke .. you need those brake calipers still ?

how are you able to get the fluid into the tranny without removing the shifter? When you dont have a pump, and the tranny is in the car

word of caution, sometimes the fill plug is in the tranny terribly tight. working on a friends s13 we had about a foot or so long breaker bar jacked up on the end and it wouldn't break lose. that was with most of the weight of the car on it. i just used an impact gun on mine and it came out easy enough.

i look to the rx7 guys for inspiration... no pump? no problem!

aaroncake method : buy a 12v air compressor with a psi gauge. stick it in the bottle of tranny fluid. drill a hole in the cap and stick ur plastic tube in there. make sure it goes to the bottom. put the other end in the tranny fill hole. smear some fluid around the hole in the cap. turn it on and modulate the amount of air that goes in with ur fingers... don't let it go over 25 or ull get really messy. u can make a permanent version of this 'device.'

www.aaroncake.net (go to 'my car' rx7 on his page)

makenzie### method: buy a super soaker. fill it with tranny fluid. connect a plastic hose at the tip, with the other end in the tranny. pump and shoot. haven't tried this but on rx7club he claims it works... seems like it would.

Wow.

Why not just remove the oil fill plug, run a hose through the engine bay down to the transmission, and pour it in?

It might take an extra 10 minutes, but it's simple and gets the job done.
