Fan controller
Suggestions on a good fan controller? I'm running duals. Everything I've seen, some people like and some people don't. And some I've seen almost catch on fire.
So what are you guys running!? Cost, reliability, can control both fans separately? |

Automobile Multimeter for EGT, Boost, Blue [SYL-1813B] - $57.50 : auberins.com, Temperature control solutions for home and industry
I run that, its both a gauge and a fan switch. The way it works its supposed to turn on a buzzer or something at a programmed temp, I have it set to flip a relay at 185* that switches my fans on and flips the relay back off once temps get down to 175*. Works amazing and it was pretty cheap. Oh and I'm running altima dual fans.

Lol thanks for the tip. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1363357877.031075.jpg
Any other suggestions on a good controller? The one posted is neat and I do like it. But I like have separate controls for each fan. It's not 100% needed. But it's a def want. |

Circuit Sports has an awesome new dual fan display controller out around $100. Google it. I almost wish my Derale 16759 (which has worked fine for 4 years) would break so I have an excuse to buy it!
Whoops! Found right here on Zilvia: http://zilvia.net/f/electronics/5080...ontroller.html Hmmm... additional reading makes me unsure if this would work for dual fans. I'm only running one 2500 cfm fan. |

Lol what's done is done. And the only reason a clutch fan works "better" is because most people don't do their elc fans properly. With proper shrouding and controller. My to e fans have a way higher cfm rating than the clutch fan.
And there is no reason to stretch out a whole front end for a clutch fan that's not needed. |

Fair enough, I'd bet that the RB25 clutch fan moves about 4000cfm. I agree though that if you have room to run shrouded e fans as pullers it would be better, and it would cost you less HP as well. I haven't seen anyone in this thread mention the DIF fan controller. But it is $150 and allows you to control each fan independently. I've heard good things about it.

Wow that really blows. I was bored at work this afternoon and found this controller that will control both fans separately.

Here is what I use;
Imperial Fan Control Part # 226204 - under $40 -Allows you to set the temp you want the fans to come on. For the price its right and allows control of 2 fans. Only downside is it cannot control them separately , you would need to run 2 of them if that's the case. I've used a couple of them with no problem. Just make sure you waterproof it or keep it away from easy elements. |

Cool. No Problem.
The adjustment knob is kind of weird, (just use a small flat head) but just mark it where it sits with a permanent marker . I believe it is set to 160 on default. That way you have an idea of what its set to when adjusted because theirs no numbers on it. |

The probes work excllent. I have used them on dozens of swaps, always laying the probe ACROSS the fins and not poking it through them. My vert has been running like this for 5 years now with no issues, no problems, works like a champ.

I'm running the DIF PWM fan controller, surprised nobody mentioned it. It replaced the previous DIF controller on the link a few posts up. The fans work at different speeds depending on the engine temp. So they're not on full blast all the time. I have a s14 with RB25, stock metal hood, two 12" Flex a lite fans pushing 2500cfm. NO problems overheating ever! while In traffic on hot summer days (90+ degrees) the water temps get cooler. When I shut the car off, the fans stay on full blast for the 30 seconds and turn off on their own. I'm very pleased with this product.
