I have a sr20 in my datsun 510 am curious if anyone has input on how i have setup my swirl-pot .. Instead of tapping the lower radiator hose / upper coolant outlet i have used the inlet / outlet from the block that was originally for the throttle body coolant lines. I dont run a heater core so I have the heater hoses looped. I am wondering if this is a good way to route the lines?

I will try my best to describe the setup with some pictures.

I want clean, simple and effective setup like yours to but with heater core.
I hope good people chime in, share theirs exeriences and help find out what works best without running feets of hoses in the engine bay.

Had a swirl pot like 6 or 8 years ago
Waste of time and money. Did nothing
Bought a vented hood nice radiator cut my clutch fan shroud and got a yashio factory pulley. And a nice thermostat

Far better, yet more pricey
And temps stay low all day at the track (wsir in summer)

The issue you'd have is that how can you be sure that there is no air in the head? If you're not tapped to the bleeder screw (highest point of the engine), you're not purging the system of air all the time.

if you cant bleed your system right, you got other problems
i used to bleed my car after every 2 events for a bit until it was nothing else coming out.
there are ways around it

still a waste of money and takes up engine space
i ran 75c-80c on a track day at WSIR in the summer. drifting.

but at that point, i wasa running a cut up thermostat too
w a regular thermostat (nismo type) was closer to 85C

vented hood with clutch fan is magical.

yeah, too bad the "bleeder screw" doesnt do a freaking thing for bleeding the engine..

anyone who has bled a engine knows how its properly done.

Different engines, different tendencies. SRs are easy to bleed. KAs are a pain in the ass, RBs are even fucking worst due to the intake manifold.

Swirl pots are a great idea as a matter of fact take a look at all new cars they all have them only much larger than the ones the aftermarket performance industry produces

As far ad routing lines and what you are tapping into it is nessisary to get one line to the bleeder screw and one to the top of the radiator all the other places are good but not nessisary
