Hit curb going 40 mph in S14 - now door sags
Just like the title says. Hit a curb at an angle going about 40 mph in my S14 about a year ago. Had to replace tire, left tie rod, and left rear knuckle. After the accident my door didn't close right. It sags and catches when you close it. Also, when you open it it falls down before swinging out. Is this because of frame damage? Could I fix it by adjusting the hinges? The hinges seem fine and don't have any play when I apply force the bottom of the door. Would appreciate any insight on this...

Pic of left rear strut tower: http://i51.tinypic.com/2dak8qu.jpg Are those creases unibody damage?

Sounds like you tweekd your frame, you can try losing your hinges and repositioning the door but that might not work.

Damn, that's what I'm worried about. A few questions: Is the creased strut tower in the pic a dead giveaway? Could the unibody be straightened easily if it is indeed bent?

That is a question for a S14 guy, there are some minor creases in the stock front strut towers of S13s but IDK about the rear of a S14.

http://i52.tinypic.com/nl7t39.jpg ^Right strut tower for comparison. God I'm an idiot. Will my car ever be as good as prior to the accident? I've read that frame straightener machines can make your car straighter than it was before a wreck since it was likely out of whack after 15+ years of daily driving anyway.

Lol at this forum... I think I scared everyone away with too many questions. I know everyone wants to give the impression that they post in between makin' money and taking bong hits, and I don't mean to ruin anybody's outrageous swag. But this sucks.

Those ripples are a bit more pronounced on your car than they are in mine.
