Even though the Heat won convincingly lastnight I must admit that I'm still alittle unhappy. I really wanted to see Memphis make it to the finals but they virtually have no shot at doing it at this point. That team reminds me so much of what the Heat were in the 90's.

The Heat need to attack alot more. All of this jump shooting is killing them. On the bright side they shot 39% and were still knocking on the door in the last minute and could have won it had it not been for a D-Wade brain fart.

Flopping fines handed down:
NBA fines Heat's James, Pacers' West, Stephenson for flopping For someone who doesn't know how to flop, LeBron sure does tend to do it a lot. I am surprised he is not into the 25k range for the playoffs alone. |

Seems to me that based on what LBJ said about the double flop and what Shane Battier said about him kneeing Hibbert in the balls (both pretty much said anything is fair play as long as it is within the rules of the game and gives your team an "advantage"), I think someone (maybe Spoelstra?) is preaching to the team that flopping and hard hits are tolerated, don't worry about fines, and it's okay to do whatever is necessary to win.

They have missed a few calls on both sides but it's not like they're giving the Heat all the calls. It may seem like it to you because you're rooting for the Pacers but the Pacers are getting far more calls than the Heat. Despite this it's the Heat's lack of help for Lebron that is killing them, not the lack of calls.
Gm 1 - IND = 32FTA, MIA = 25FTA despite Miami winning pts in the paint 60-48 Gm 2 - IND = 32FTA, MIA = 26FTA despite pts in the paint being tied at 40-40 Gm 3 - IND = 44FTA, MIA = 28FTA despite Miami winning pts in the paint 52-36 GM 4 - IND = 33FTA, MIA = 27FTA Pacers won pts in pant 50-32 GM 5 - IND = 15FTA, MIA = 12FTA despite Miami winning pts in the paint 34-32 TOTAL - INDIANA 156 FTA, MIA 118 FTA, despite Miami winning 218-206 in the paint This is the reason I never blame the refs for wins or losses. It all comes down to who has the better team. |

Pacers are way too inexperience to capitalize on the Heat's weakness in the 1st half.
But man, this is going to be a brutal but hilarious finals if the Heat think they can pull this shit against the Spurs. Pops is going to run laps around a team that thinks it can get away with playing like shit for 3 quarters and bet everything on LeBron going crazy for 1 quarter. |

That does not necessarily mean that LeBron has a higher basketball IQ. It means he is an actress who recognizes the value of theatrics. He could make a wonderful career for himself in the WWE with that shit.

And looking at the Pacers, I'm not expecting much from George Hill and Lance Stephenson, but their guard play is pretty weak. Stephenson had like 1 good game this series? |
