making a car rollover

So im sitting here thinking and you hear about cars rolling over in the news etc. then i started thinking of what one of the best things to do in a 240 is (drift) and i put 2 in 2 together. has anyone ever rolled over one of our cars from drifting or high speed maneuvering (not talking about hitting little jumps or curbs.... just flat surface)? what exactly would it take to flip over our cars? i wonder how much it would actually take and it makes me think a little... any input?

NASA has a "rollover contest" they run at their "Hyperfest". you could campaign your 240.

p.s. I wasn't saying it isn't possible.. just that I haven't read about it.

The easiest way to roll a car at the track is to get it sliding sideways off the course.. if the wheels dig into the dirt while you're still going at a decent clip, it's done.

We have a low enough CG and wide enough track that the sort of ass-hattery that can flip an SUV or truck will just make our cars slide or spin.

Likely you'd still break the suspension componants before our cars flipped.. You'd almost have to use a ramp of some sort I would think.

theres been three flips/rollovers here(that i know of). 1 hachi, 1 rx-7, and 1 s13. i think the hachi and rx-7 were relatively stock and just spun out in the dirt. wheel got caught or something and the body roll was bad so it just flipped. the s13 had full suspension. it was mid drift and nipped a part of a tire or something in the rear. the car spun the other direction, rolled up on some tires, and then flipped over.

heres pics of the s13:

Hm, you could probably roll a 240 without too much trouble. You'd need some sticky tires to do it on the flat, but doing it on the track wouldn't be very hard at all- kiss a berm or dip a tire and you could do it.

haha.. yeah, I remember seeing that saturn. I guess with some stock soft suspension, and some r-compounds you could probably do it. Would be might violent.

The previous owner of my car flipped his S13 fb on the backside of a local touge. He was going about 45mph, clipped the (blind) apex, hit a rock that was right in the road, it wedged under his undercarriage and over he went. Rolled a couple times, I think.

Don't cars routinely flip out at GMR? I know there's that pic from Import Ricer! of a S13 fb, burgundy, that had been rolled to hell.

Weird things happen, people. Hell, I hit a damn washing machine and flipped my 325i. See, weird.

If youre on a flat surface its almost impossible to flip unless you somehow get your suspension to unload really violently, if youre doing a 360 for example. I would think one would have to have a lot of body roll to do it though.

on the way from mission skatepark the other night we almost hit a couch. it was just chillin in the middle lane of I-4 in downtown orlando.

another time in downtown st.pete we were next to a toyota corolla going probably 45mph(traffic) and there is someone laying ontop of a matress on the roof. its a windy day and i guess it wasnt tied down because he blew off the damn roof with the matress underneath of him. i shit you not

240 rollover, thataboy!!!

this is a link to our local car club, http://www.slocars.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=26
inside is a pic of member cory's car, after drifting a public road, sliding totally sideways into a curb which in turn rolled the car down a hill and into a tree. things to ponder b4 drifting on the streets
