Low end power

My car feels like it lacks low end power and I cant fugue out what is causing the power loss from like 1k to 3k rpms. I tried messing with the distributor timing n it raised the rpms up to 1,500 n picked up a little more but now I'm idling to high. So I checked out the egr valve n it seems to be have suction n once I pluged the hose back into the bpt valve it lost suction..I noticed the little foam stuff in the bpt valve is missing.maybe that's causing a vacume leak? Is the bpt valve supposed to be sealed if so can I just taped it up or is there a cheap way of repairing it?

just this one sentence right here tells me that you do not have enough experience to be messing with your car on your own.

do you have any friends/neighbors/relatives who are experienced mechanics?

please consult a professional before making any further arbitrary "adjustments".

No I didn't touch it a friend of mine thought that might fix the problem. He has been working on cars for about 10 years so I trusted him to make that adjustment.
Should I move it back to where it was n try something else?
It's a ka singlecam I don't know if that will help with anything.

You should set the timing properly instead of just arbitrarily messing with things.

Yeah that's what I was thinking too but I was I have done a lot of research and other people how the same symptoms and it was due to off timing so that's why I went ahead and tried that. And about that bpt valve... Do you thank it is possibly causing a vaccine leak n messing up the air/fuel mixture?
