SR20 Radiator Flow Rate??
Anyone know the flow rate per minute or per hour for the radiator fluid?
Trying to get some fittings done with the radiator hoses and need to know the flow rate before I purchase. |

^I have -16AN currently on my SR but im switching the fittings to dry disconnect fittings. They are more restricted so i need to know the flow rate to know what fitting size I should use. The bigger the size, the more it costs. If I get too small, i restrict water flow.
Also -16 is the minimal AN size the radiator hose should run. AN -20 would almost match the OEM size. |

"Flow rate" is meaningless without knowing the pump curve of the stock water pump. It's all a question of what pressure drop can you tolerate at a given flow rate.
I've done pressure drop tests on many quick disconnect fittings, and my gut feeling without exactly knowing the pump curve is you will need to be running a roughly -20 sized QD that's fairly low restriction to even have a hope of it working. That said - why QDs on your radiator? Why not just wiggins clamps?

Those fittings are going to get more popular as times goes on. They're brilliant.
Hit up Nigel @ engineeredtoslide.com - he used those fittings and might have some info for you. He probably fields tons of questions like that though. |
