97 kouki sr swap help

So i found a guy that will trade me his original kouki with a non running ka and he'll throw in an sr20 and transmission with it.

1. the guy said he bought the 1994 180sx blacktop clip and the engine had 15xxx miles on it. i find that hard to believe. i was gonna see if thats even possible. ive never seen one for sale with that low of mileage.

2. im leaning towards doing the swap myself. Have any of you guys done the swap themselves with not much experiece and been successful? Ive only done maintenance on my e30, nothing close to a full swap. Planning on getting a premade wiring harness and my buddy has a lift.

Any help would be appreciated.

sr20det swaps are very rare in 240s, you'll probably have to search high and low to find information for the swap.

Many JDM engine importers will claim their engines are low mileage, in reality, they don't know. Many those motors have been sitting out in the elements for months or years and that's a lot more concerning than the mileage IMO.

The sarcasm is appreciated.. I was lookin to see how peoples swap turned out that had little to no experience.

So what should i do to make sure this SR is worth the trouble? He said it was immaculate, of course, when he had it in his s13 but now has some oxidation so it needs a thorough cleaning. Any thoughts on this?

The guys a troll ignore his response, the swap is pretty straight forward especially if you get a wiring specialties harness all plug and play and guarantees start up.

Its an easy swap, even easier if you order a harness from wiring specialties, chase etc. Just search how to swap sr20 into 240sx. Good luck.

He also said that the engine has some oxidation on it since its been in a garage for 3-4 years. Will this be a problem or can it simply be cleaned p and polished? I want that bitch to shine.
