Isis Radiator and stock clutch fan
So first off let me say sorry if this has been covered but I can't find a for sure answer anywhere, I might just be search retarded.
![]() So anyways, I want to replace my radiator with this Isis Radiator: *ISIS Aluminum Radiator - Nissan 240sx 89-94 w/KA24 - Enjuku Racing Parts, LLC It seems to get generally good reviews for the price but the only thing is I don't want to convert to electric fans. I've read that the clutch fan is just as, if not more, efficient as electric and I don't trust myself with wiring just yet. But I'm worried about fitment as I read that the Isis rad might make it hard to fit the clutch fan shroud. Does anyone have any experience with this? This is where I read about the shroud having trouble fitting. http://zilvia.net/f/s-chassis/259233...or-e-fans.html |

with all increased sized radiators that fit in STOCK location, the shroud is usually cut/trimmed so the increased with of the radiator doesnt make the shoud hit the fan. Also install the lower part of the shroud, then the fan and then the top shroud is what i read makes it a bit easier to install completetly.
i use clutch fans personally, everytime i've used electric it has been worthless. But some friends over here use that isis with no problems at all. And there is a thread around here about wiring electric fans just search google and it will appear on this site and a few others. |

See below:
![]() Doesn't matter that it's an SR w/a Koyo radiator... Same concept, extremely similar fitment... My setup has the larger-diameter GKtech clutch fan... OEM shroud requires NO trimming whatsoever. The only issue you're going to have is the bracket that holds the 'hood-keeper-upper' stick will be slightly making contact with the radiator... Nothing a few whacks with a hammer won't solve. Takes about 10sec to get it clear of the radiator. Easy peasy.

sorry to thread jack but i'm thinking of ordering that GKtech fan, how is it working for you? would really like some review/opinion on it before i order that AND the kazama style catch can... shipping from australia to PR is stupid expensive to waste.

They also carry the Kazama catch can: http://www.frsport.com/index.php?tar...ross&x=17&y=13 Quote:
As far as cooling, it moves serious air. With an upgraded radiator & shroud, you will love it!

I have Koyo radiator with KA and I was able to install everything back in place. No e-fan... It gets very tight, so my hands got some scratches though.
