I don't see a lot of money, I see a motor swap that has painted piping, a knock off intercooler kit, a hideous front bump, knock-off wheels and factory suspension, of course he didn't spend the money on a "quality" mask.

Let's not forget to mention dude in shorts, wearing no gloves and complete lack of PPE for the most part. Bet he had fun getting the overspray off.

Dude, that's thousands of dollars. Surely he had $30 laying around so he would not get fucking lung cancer. That dust mask is just that A FUCKING DUST MASK. It is doing nothing for the paint fumes.

Obviously he should have had full PPE, but the mask is the most vital part, followed by goggles.

No blanket or heat wrap anymore. Manifold, downpipe and turbo exhaust housing is cermaic coated.
Needs intake pipe.

Old picture, can't wait to re-do this over the winter.

I was able to sell that car for $19,000. I used some of it to buy this instead.

So some people see what they want. Others... like me, are poor. So yeah, I cant afford an expensive set of wheels. Heck, those were given to me free otherwise I'd be rocking the SE wheels.

Ya got something against poor people huh? Thought this thread was all about engine bays, not ripping on the poor folks with knock-off parts.
My intake manifold was also a knock off fyi

Dangers of Isocyanates
Isocyanates are highly reactive chemicals that have a low molecular weight. These qualities allow isocyanate products to be sprayed as a mist or vapor and they are commonly used in a variety of industry processes. Direct contact with the skin can cause irritation, but isocyanates are at their most dangerous during application. Two-pack paint products contain harmful isocyanates that irritate the membranes of the eyes and damage the gastrointestinal and respiratory tracts. Users of isocyanate materials become sensitized, and this can cause ailments such as asthma if exposure to isocyanates occurs in the future.

Dangers of Spraying Without a Mask
Modern body shops use respiratory equipment to protect their workforce from the dangers of isocyanate poisoning. The most common form of personal protection equipment is an air-fed mask, which feeds a controlled supply of clean air to isocyanate users while spraying is in progress. According to a report by the Health and Safety Executive published in 2009, sprayers are 80 times more likely to develop asthma than a worker in any other environment, and this makes mask use mandatory.

Short-term Effects

Signs and symptoms of brief exposure include headaches, dizziness, fatigue, loss of coordination and nausea. Assuming exposure was limited and the individual is exposed to fresh air, these symptoms should subside. When painting indoors, ventilate the room to avoid these symptoms. If symptoms are noted, stop painting.

Long-term Effects

As a result of long-term exposure, usually associated with individuals who work with paint professionally, signs and symptoms may surface. One such sign would be memory loss and confusion, both indicators of damage to the brain. Just as with short-term exposure, headaches are a sign. In this case, they persist and never seem to go away.

Kidney Problems
Exposure can cause kidney damage, which first shows as anemia, fatigue, increased blood pressure and then kidney dysfunction, which can lead to kidney failure.

Further Signs
Individuals exposed to paint solvents can exhibit sleep disturbances, euphoria, hallucinations and seizures. Further symptoms include nose and throat irritation with the common thread of headaches.

Direct Contact
Splashing paint in or around your eyes can cause severe irritation to the eye. If you get paint in your eye, you should immediately wash it out by spraying water in your eye continuously for a couple of minutes. Then you should visit your primary care physician as soon as possible. If the paint comes in direct contact with your skin, you might also experience skin irritation or dry cracking of the skin. Be sure to wash your skin off thoroughly when you finish a paint job.

Inhalation
Inhaling paint fumes for an extended period can lead to sudden headaches, nausea, fatigue, dizziness and confused or clouded thinking. If you are experiencing these symptoms, you should immediately leave the area being painted. Breathing fresh air for 15 to 20 minutes should relieve most of the symptoms. If the symptoms continue, you should see a doctor.

Long-term Effects
Repeated exposure to paint fumes over the long term can have dangerous physical effects. Frequent inhalation of paint fumes can lead to blood deficiency and organ damage, primarily to the kidney, brain and liver. If you are regularly exposed to paint fumes at your job or residence, you should invest in proper ventilation systems and wear a mask when applying paint.

Prevention
Preventing hazardous exposure to paint fumes is simple. When painting a room in your house, open up all the doors and windows. Set up a box fan in the window facing the outdoors so you blow toxic fumes outside instead of into other areas of your home. Keep the fan on for two days after you paint or until the paint is fully dry. If you are painting the outside of your home with oil-based paint, make sure that there are no vents blowing outside air into your home. If you start to experience symptoms, consider vacating your home until the paint job is finished.

If he was smart, he would have bought a wrecked LS7 Corvette from the junkyard for 500$ and used all the parts from it on his car, even the paint.

I support R&D and the amount of engineering that goes into a QUALITY piece. Knock off shit is just that. Either way it's a difference of opinions and I choose to spend my money on items that may possibly cost more money, but are generally of better quality than more than half of the garbage available for our chassis'.

With that said, I could care a less what you put into your car or anyone else. I honestly just can't stand space cowboy Kingalton and the random bullshit he constantly spits out.

Too much bitching in here, especially that about some dude not wearing a mask to spray a pint of paint on an engine bay, and quoting a piece specifying those who work in the paint industry, getting exposed every day, all day, not a little once in forever exposure.

Please forgive if some of these are reposts, but lets get this thread back on topic.

Cant be any kind of man walkin around like some big shot.

This was my car at one point, but I am not responsible for the knock off intercooler or the painty parts.

notice the cold side bypass. Horrible idea. Quick someone, disagree! Glad I am able to help annoy those that need it.

I used to deliver pizza with this car, then I bent an intake valve when the rocker arm came off. A year later, it is finally back up and running.

Dyno'd @ 320whp - needs a better tune. GT2871r .86, PowerFC DJetro, 850cc injectors, stock motor minus Cosworth HG, big intercooler - I want 400whp afraid I might need cams to do it on pump gas.

What boost u running, 7psi?
Definitely recommend getting some cams.
After being down for almost 2 years, my baby is finally up and running.
It's on a really mild tune. Until I get a new boost controller and better couplers, I'm stuck at 301hp at only 5psi.

880cc, full head build; cams, oversized valves, etc., T3 .50 trim replica, with AEM series 2 EMS. I'm going for 450hp down the road but realistically can sit at 400 all day with the right parts and better tune.

Dyno'd @ 320whp - needs a better tune. GT2871r .86, PowerFC DJetro, 850cc injectors, stock motor minus Cosworth HG, big intercooler - I want 400whp afraid I might need cams to do it on pump gas.
My JWT S3s are for sale they will get you 400
