So did you remove any spark plugs? Or remove the wires or pull the distributor cap off? It's hard to diagnose over the Internet, but ideas would be

Making sure the firing order is correct. FROM MEMORY I believe the top left of distributor is 1, then 3 then 4 then 2 when going CCW

Possible vacuum leak? Never know, may have split an old broken hose by accident.

Timing? Did you pull the distributor out to do any work?

Basically it ran good before? If it doesn't now, sorry but it's most likely something you did. Just retrace your steps an think logically and troubleshoot the problem. Did something not get hookedup ccorrectly, or in a rush was something forgotten altogether? When doing a gasket did you scrape all the old off for a good seal? Idk, just shooting ideas out

i re timed the oil pump, redid the firing order (which was way the fuck off i don't even understand how it was running) the tick got quieter and it's running better but when i set the ignition timing by moving the distributor it runs terribly.
just gonna move it so it runs good by ear.
i'm going to take the oil pan off and clean off the sump and stuff to make sure it's not plugged with RTV silicone,
i think i have it all figured out/
