I am thinking about this turbo due to external gate not being allowing in local events. Going from a TD06 20G l2 and T67 25g to this possibly or 2871 s15 style. I am going to miss the gate and the shove as these seem to produce na type curves. Driven many GTRS (2871 both housings/s15/t04e) cars, so I am really wanting to stick with the 20. I have always wanted to try a bolt on special on mine...I guess it may happen. pfc, 850, z32, 4.6 final, z32 trans, 264 step 1 hks, os ts2b.

Cars running, quick test run before the final time attack of the year. I have to say not impressed, car doesn't come alive to 4k and even then is meh! Only a couple hours of tuning. So far my RB25 with the GT2535 at 1.2 bar keeping my top spot.

But tell me why I am stock block and head gasket, never have any intentions of building any engine or making more than 375 wheel. I want super fast response and spool time.

![]() Want a more responsive 375 WHP setup, then the 63 is your choice. If you want a little more headroom and still keeping withing 100 or so RPM in response time of the 63, then get the 67. Simple It really shouldn't be that hard of a decision ![]() The stock stuff will take 400WHP all day long with a good tune, so you do not have to worry about the internals at the power level you want |

Anyone running a Twin scroll setup yet, I just picked up a GTX3076. I want to know when full boost kicks in.

Mines a .82 AR and I make 20psi by 4100 with no timing thrown at it and a basic street tune. That was on JWT S3s. I've upgraded to Tomei 272/272 cams but haven't gone to the dyno yet. Single scroll btw

Even the stock head gasket? My tuner refused to push past 15psi. I am at 320 whp and would like to hit 400 whp by adding Tomei 260's, GReddy intake manifold and ~20psi. (GT2871R .64 52T but curious about the HG)

Howdy, sorry for the late reply. First, let me list off turbos I have owned. 1 x gtx2863, 2 x gt3071, 3 x 2871, 2 x t28, some t25, hksgtrs, hks3037, and some others. I don't kill them or anything I just have had tons of setups, along with built ls1s, twin turbo 350z, blah blah blah. I have also driven 150 plus drift cars at the minimum. So, assuming you are going to drift the car since you know simba and I, you will be golden with either the 2867 or the 2863. If you run tires in the 265 range get the 2867, and if you run smaller tires think about either of the turbos. If you run larger tracks with good grip, get the 2867, but if you run mostly smaller 2nd gear tracks that only hit 3rd for entry, the 2863 will be fine. I have enjoyed the 2863 all season, and it has been a lot of fun, a great little turbo. It even broke multiple transmissions this year. The gtx line of turbos is so good, it really gets rid of a lot of the limitations of turbo cars from the past. That, with the addition of cheap e85 fuel. We live in the golden age of turbo cars, where you can make built ls1 numbers on cheap e85 on t2 flanges, and you can spool them no problem. Rad stuff. Keep in mind the 2867 is going to kill transmissions at decent boost levels that warrant buying it over the 2863, so brace yourself with a 350z setup from maverick motorsports. And don't stress over the purchase, you will like either one! |

Thanks man, yea, my home track is Gateway in STL, drove with you there quite a few years back when you were still driving that glorious sounding LS in red hatch.
I get out of town a bit here and there, but mostly it'll be gateway, which is full 3rd. I do a ton of street driving though too, not necessarily big street drift sessions, just cruising around town with buddies blasting around etc... I rode with simba a couple weekends ago in his car at gateway, and honestly, his 2863 didn't feel much different than my s15 turbo in regards to power or spool. Cars felt very very similar. The original turbo I had planned on doing before reading about the GTX line was a .64 2871. And I'm familiar with those as I have driven plenty of cars with them. How does both of these GTX turbos compare to that, in regards to power, response, and spool time?

There are different camps (kind of like the rocker arm stopper discussions), and there are plenty of other threads about this... so if you'd like to rehash the different points of view, start a separate thread and I will be happy to join in. ^^+1... Full build with OEM bearings, valves, gaskets & seals is the way to go. /////////////////////////////////////////// Kyle, your setup is a perfect and reliable balance of street and trackability... Why the hell would you of all people (after what you've been thru motor-wise) want to switch up now? I'm sure your cams & turbine aren't the best match... but it's still SO smooth & awesome! If you're going closer to the 400 mark, let me know and I'll be happy to share all the lessons I learned when you end up shattering your tranny & upgrading to Z32 or 350Z- Yes, this will happen if you go for more power... You are already skirting that line where you're at. I have a spare Z32 tranny btw... May make you a good deal on it ![]() Don't get me wrong, I know you- you're a smart guy and whatever you do I'm sure will be awesomeness... Just curious. Speaking of trannies- will you PLEASE come by and get that SR tranny outta here for me... LOL

You can connect absolutely anything at gateway with a 2867. I hope you have access to e85 up there! If you do Martin at enthalpy can make you a dual map stock ecu for both pump and e85 : ). I set up dyno days and he flys in and tunes my drivers cars every few months, including stews 600whp jzx100 on e85. Also, don't get too crazy, keep it simple. Lol, I always try to keep telling myself that. |

Haha I'm all about simple! I run a JWT tune, and it's dead solid reliable and awesome. I run my own meth kit with a 50/50 mix, keeps everything very happy and cool! I'll be sticking with 93 octane only, we have E85 but I don't want to have to worry about finding it. We have 93 everywhere up here. And most places out of town. And I'm connecting everything in throttle now with my little T28, I just want some more pull up top, and wouldn't mind running 11's in the 1/4 mile
![]() I'll probably end up going with the GTX2867 and external gate on factory exhaust manifold, set it at 17psi, and let her eat. Should be awesome! Thanks for sharing your knowledge man!

Anyone using one of these with the GTRS bolt-on style compressor housing, that ATP offers?
Im thinking about going that route for ease of install and not having to change charge pipes, any real good reason not to?

^^As you know, I'm not using one... But nothing short of perfect utilization of the KISS concept by procuring a setup that works with existing piping and essentially will plug & play...

My only issue with the OE style setup is the lack of trim on the compressor side. And lack of 3" inlet.
