Why is this a thread that anyone would care about?
Once again, motion to ban. Its your car, do whatever the fuck you want to do. Install a nuclear generator, rocket-engine, no one cares. |

its a forum being used for what it was intended to be used for. you have a problem with the thread? then dont read it. nobody asked you to come in wasting your own time and making a post. seems like you OBVIOUSLY have better things to do then waste your time on a thread that nobody should "care about"

because this is no different than a "how much is this car worth" thread
guy has to chose between a turbo-4 and a turbo-6 and cant seem to weight the differences. for fucks sake, he's not even doing the work. if this guy was to turn a fuckin wrench, i would understand. he's basically trying to figure out why one would be better than the other. you want the answer? do some research, come to your own conclusions. off the top of my head, how about this: sr20det = its stock and designed to fully-bolt into our cars 1jz-gte = its not designed to fit in our cars. its designed to fit inside a soarer. there, now you guys have the answer and can eat a bag of dicks |

Well it's decided I'm going 1j. We talked it out and the only things I'm paying for is the driveshaft and the dakota digital converter boxes for the gauges.

What kind of stupid shit is this? I own an SC (also a piece of junk). The MKIII Supra is way-worse than the SC. 7M.... sigh. Nothing makes me more sick than an intake manifold that goes over the head sideways.
The MKIII Supra is a jank car owned by people who wish they had MKIV Supra's but are too cheap to justify the costs. ![]() ![]() Miller: And I want a new car! And I want the city to pay for it all! Lt Hedgecock: What kind of car, Miller? Miller: Something with reclining leather seats, that goes really fast, and gets really shitty gas mileage! Alright. |

SR came in the chassis in question. That means:
1. It's gonna be cheaper 2. It's gonna be easier to do AC (if this is not an interest, you're just not old enough and tired of race car shit in general) 3. It shouldn't overheat in its new chassis

Every thing is pretty much decided on. Gauges boxes come today. Koyo rad on the way. Oil cooler with thermostat will go on a couple of weeks after the swap is done. Cutting bumper so cooler will fit by the fog light.
Last thing to figure out is the shifter. How is the shifter placement without extension? |

Like stated before 3k swap < 6k swap
1JZ - As for your concern about the motor and its info, It will come with time/experience and if all goes bad you will still have your mechanic buddy to help you troubleshoot/source out your problems. + 1JZ bouncing off the rev limiter/screaming = sex to the ears. Seems like the obvious answer - you were looking for assurance I'm guessing. ![]()

You bought a Supra after watching Fast and Furious.
(sigh) The car felt plastic because the car you bought was a toy replica from the movie. Come on man, please... stop talking. One (quick) glance at the above photos should tell you that you're hitting the pipe. I cant think of ONE thing that is better on the MKIII than the MKIV. |

i was 19. young and dumb if you will. but say what ever you want about the mk3. I know plenty of people that have dumped more money in a mk3 then what it would cost you to buy an amg mercades out right...

dude, quit being a pussy. send the part out for machining. do it once and do it right
its bad enough you're installing an antiquated toyota motor in a nissan, might as well do it right. if you wanted to keep things simple, you would have chosen the motor that was designed to fit in your chassis. gaddamn, 20 year olds... |
