Topdrift Rd. 2 was this weekend and I made the trip all the way down to compete.

Car was having issues on Saturday with some fuel pump wiring but I got it all sorted. At least it looked cool


A bunch of other Norcal guys also made the trip down. 4 out of 5 of us qualified!


Qualified 5th out of 40 drivers!
















Ended up getting knocked out in the top 8 by my friend Donovan who ended up second. Super fun event and the car drove nearly perfect. I desperately need a oil cooler.

Got to watch you drive this weekend. Good stuff man......car looked like you had it set up very well, solid.

I always tell people that they really don't understand how hot it gets out here. I have 2 giant 28 row oil coolers with fans on the back and a water misting cooling system in the works and people give me crap for it (saying its overkill etc).....but they've never been to willow in the summer. I'm doing everything and anything to keep the car temps under control! Keep it up man! good stuff!

Dude that cooling system sounds awesome! Yea you can't really go overboard IMO. My coolant stayed perfect all weekend but the oil temps were out of control. Thanks for the photos!

No prob man, I always forget to snap pics of actual runs. Yea the water sprayer idea I got from some dude on speedhunters. Bug sprayer manual pump...just routed to the top of the oil coolers.

Got such a good fucking deal on this truck and trailer. I had planned to spend a LOT of money on a new truck, then save for a enclosed but I got both of these for less than half what I had planned on spending on the truck alone. Love craigslist.

lol I just bought a old dodge to. I got a 95 5 speed. That diesel power is fun and the parts are super cheap compared to 240 stuff lol. I'm getting about 25 psi out of the holset hx35 right now. Think I'm going to try and get as much out of it on the stock turbo and be done with it. 32 psi-ish. Just don't want to buy a double disc clutch yet....

Diesel guys are crazy about mods. I'm just going to do an intake for sweet MPGZ. So far it's been rad getting 24 on the freeway.

yea I've done a few mods already. Did an S&B intake and 5 inch exhaust as far as power adders go. I filled up the other day (first tank) averaged out to a little over 20 mpg (city driving). Will be headed to Indiana this weekend, hoping to be around what you are at or better for highway driving. Mines a flat bed though, little heavier than regular truck bed lol.

Did some shake down yesterday for Top Drift this weekend. New tow rig is legit. Car ran perfect. Small coolant leak which I will be fixing tonight.

Such a fun weekend!



Car was on point. Ended up qualifying 1st and finishing second. Went OMT in the finals and make the only mistake I made all weekend and bobbled just slightly giving Rad Dan the win. Can't wait for round 4!!

I thought long and hard about this and this is best solution for my setup. Less complex and as it is flush with the radiator rather than sat away from it, the fans will have a greater effect on the oil cooler. Really important as airflow is more dependent on the fans rather than vehicle movement in drifting. I'll report back with how it works.

And the first ThunderDrift track day on the NEW Thunderhill West section is the week after.

Bad news for me is that it looks like Federal Tires are no longer available. I'll be running Triangles for now but I'm in need of a comparable tire (price, durability, grip). Anyone have any thoughts?

You can't get them anywhere and I heard that Federal was purchased by some other company and is going out of business.

Golden Gate Drift Rd. 3

Pretty solid event. Layout really favored V8 cars and I felt really strong all day. Triangle tires are a decent substitute to Federals which is really good news. They last 1/3 longer and have comparable grip. The lower cost isn't bad either.

Qualified 2nd but got knocked out in the top 8 after barely knocking over a inside clip. Felt really strong all day and the car worked flawlessly. Only thing I have to do before Thunderhill this weekend is bolt check and feed it tires and gas. V8 life!
