You gotta be kidding. Have you need to have your eyes checked. That thing looks nothing like the Mustang. In fact it's hideous in my opinion.

Same fastback body shape, same giant front end, far spaced out headlights, oversized grill, giant emblem. But at least the headlights follow the lines of the body better so it does not look like a Sil80.

I do concur. The worst part about the Infinit is you can see some sexy body lines in the side profile that they could have ran with. Instead they mucked it up with upper and lower protruding accents that just destroy everything.

In fact that is were the differences between the similar design really set them apart. Ford stayed away from trying to make carved out swooping body shape in the side that makes the car a cleaner less cluttered to many things going design.
This is the exact same problem Hyundai had with the Genesis it had way to many carved out body lines not done properly. Here Infiniti aka Nissan fails.

Companies like Ferrari have made an art out of properly executed carved out body lines. Of course this also has to with Pininfarina doing the body design.

I commenced heavy breathing when I saw the new Ford GT.

I understand the powertrain is required to meet FIA regulations, but I was kind of hoping for an eight cylinder motor. Either way this is still an impressive vehicle and an instant collector's car IMO.

Yeah I'm curious and skeptical of them even bothering to offer a car in that segment any more.

Concept = No Shits Given

To much win being announced by Ford to care. Hell the big news for Nissan is the 300hp Cummins Diesel Titan.

To make a proper Japanese Super Car you either need to build the we don't give shit brimming with physics defying handling I.E. GTR. Or a carbon fiber uber exotic aka LFA.
Honda cannot do with the new NSX what they did with the original i.e. Bite Ferrari design language and make a nice car. This current rendition while not looking bad is too much a me too exercise.
Don't get me wrong nice looking just looks very familiar.

As far as that Mustang GT350 goes it looks like Ford has a clue on how to sell that car.
On the Nissan twin turbo V6? If they stuck with that power plant for a Z they would open room underneath for a smaller entry level 4cyl turbo car like the IDX
God forbid they go down the dumb road of offering an NA V6 alongside a TT.

lol well they are sticking with the design language for the brand.

drift freaq - This is the actual production car that will FINALLY come out. They haven't provided any details on pricing, but in my opinion, I wouldn't be surprised to see this in the 100K-150K range.

Which leads me right to the hmmm lots of exotics I can buy in this price range what makes this one stand out viewpoint. Like I said just looks like just another exotic current design language.

How is Honda going to convince the enthusiast not to buy something else?

It's not bad looking just not that different. When the NSX came out they offered a Ferrari type car for much less.
Now if they bring this thing in for say 60-80k then you have an interesting equation going on. At 100-150k there are a lot of alternatives with more pedigree than this NSX.

Now that Ford GT is bad ass looking full on Exotic and if they build it and sell it for around 150k it would definitely push that NSX out of the running.

I can't think of a single exotic in the 100-150k range.

Sports cars? Sure, exotic?

R8 V10 starts at $153k, R8 Plus is $175k
991 Turbo $151k and Turbo S is $183k

Peasant Spec Ferrari California is ~$198k
Ferrari 458 is $234k and the F12 is $320k.

I recall Hondas target is a "Ferrari 458 at half the price in a hybrid configuration".

$115k puts it inline with the Viper, GTR, R8 V8, 991S and several other powerful sports cars. It's a good place to be.

In this day and age a GTR is $113k, a Z28 costs $70k, a Hellcat is $65k and the M3/4 has no issue surpassing $70k.

Not going to happen. $60-80k gets you a Boxster, Camaro Z28, or a 4-banger Alfa 4c these days. Shit, an M4 starts at $64k in the typical economy car BMW base option package. "Keyless entry? $500! HIDs? $1,800!"

Exactly ! Now take what you said earlier in consideration of a new Supra revival...

And our expectations and hope could be looking at the *new Supra. Toyota has to hit a homerun with performance, design and prove it can be competitive to the Ford and the C7. With the price of a grandslam @ 50-80K.

Then bingo.

And our expectations and hope could be looking at the *new Supra. Toyota has to hit a homerun with performance, design and prove it can be competitive to the Ford and the C7. With the price of a grandslam @ 50-80K.

Then bingo.
Honestly I am not holding my breath on a new Supra and to be quite honest the Supra never really spun my wheels. I have liked some Toyota's but I am not really a Toyota person. Not sure why the marque has just never really taken me.
Even the current Supra concept just seems overworked.
It's really hard with high end cars to strike a balance of awesome exotic and not overworked. Quite a few Super cars suffer from the overworked bodywork syndrome which turns them into a big turn off for me.

While I mention the LFA I think it's riducously overpriced and because of that beyond respecting what it can do or represents I would never ever consider owning one, plus it has a bit of the overworked going on .

Hell you could buy a Ferrari and a GTR and possibly have some cash left over form the price of one.

Ford has actually done a better job of striking the balance with the new GT concept.

Fair enough, I think the GTR is due for design refresh next year or so will be interesting to see where they go style wise.

Fair to say though, that with these mfg's pushing out more risque designs, this can only elevate the field for cooler looking cars. And that's deff not a bad thing for car enthusiasts.

The next few years should be fun, I hear Mazda might throw it's hat back in the game too.

This NSX IS the production car. That's it.

And the Supra is completely confirmed and is a joiunt venture between BMW and Toyota.
