Most people I see are financing expensive cars (and then modding cars they don't own outright), and I'm still content with sinking money into a $3k 240 and owning it, and it not really depreciating any more. I try to subsidize my car building by selling cars and parts on the side so I'm not out of pocket near as much as I used to be. And mortgage and life expenses exist now, which means a 240 is still budget friendly to play with.

Plus, it's fun. And pretty much everything on a 240 is liquid if I needed to cash out.

Cars aren't any sort of good investment at this level, and the friends I've made over the last 10 years make it worth it to me.
whatever makes ya happy mane!
financing cars is a smarter decision, for some people. the most successful friends have i have hold maybe 500k credit lines with amex. their cars are bought with credit. Lol
i should probably add that they are business owners

It's not their car, it's the banks. They are trying to hard to look like something they are not. Not to mention over paying with interest. No thanks. You want to be a baller. You bring a bag of cash. Watch their faces.

having cash tied up in a depreciating asset isn't smart in some instances.

the return of having that cash in assets to generate higher cash flow is much more beneficial, for them at least. it pays for interest many times over. Lol

*fixed

Sounds like you just got done reading something by Robert Kyosaki. lol

You're not wrong though. The thing is, most of the nerds on here get offended when you point out that spending a lot of money on their cars is really stupid. But we aren't buying these old turds for financial stability...
