crazy, idea, altima engine in 240

is it possible to use an altima engine block in our 240s, they look like they would go in pretty much the same, just would need to change the intake manifold and exhaust manifold, and possibly the oil pan.

thats the other thing that I couldnt figure out, generally nissan makes there engines somewhat universal, kinda like there cars. Ie if your car is an automatic it will take a stick swap like butta.
Maybe I should go out side and see if there are bolt holes for our engine mounts, or if its possible.

Nissan FWD and RWD blocks are always different. Alot of the parts are the same but the block will never bolt upto the engine mounts and/or the tranny. With the altima engine it's the engine mounts and the Head is different. The Distributor is mounted on the end of the engine not the side.

eh, the corolla guys seem to have got real good at putting FWD engines into RWD cars, so its def. doable. I say give it a shot. Get out the digicam, the measuring tape, and the notebook, go to a couple junkyards.. buy an FSM, whatever.

that's because Toyota and Nissan are different manufacturers.

But that's because they are forced to. If there were rwd 20V 4ag engines they wouldn't go through the hassle of converting a fwd engine to rwd. It's not like rwd KA's are super rare anyways, especially since the Silvia/SR bandwagon is at maximum overdrive............

The reason why i was contimplating it, is becouse there are tons of non beat on ultima blocks all over the place, and they carried the ka24de engine into the 2000, so finding a low millage relitively new block is deffinitly possible. But odviously the install would not be worth it even if it was possible to pull off.

i'm talking about the blocks, not the heads.
I've seen SR20VE heads (FWD) used on RWD SRs.
FWD KA or SR blocks were not designed to be interchangable. TOO MUCH is different.
People need to stop citing Toyota motors because it's apples and oranges. That's like comparing the food served to the US Army and the Iraqi Army. Same meal being served to same type of people - TOTALLY different stuff.

4AGs swap over WAY more easily because 4AG blocks were designed independent of chassis necessity.

Yeah it's easy to do. Just drill and tap new engine mounting points. Then move to the bell housing...
