I also believe the US power rating there is wrong. At least by mid-1977, power in the US model was up to 115hp. The main reason the US cars lost power was low compression for our crappy gas crisis era fuel. A '77 924 would just be a standard 924, though, not an S or a Turbo. Most likely the mods on mom's car are just some bolt-ons. A lot can be done with the stock motor, surprisingly enough, considering it's just an old VW truck engine, 2.0L with 8 valves.
