transmission question.

hi i have a 1990 240sx 5spd. my problem is when im driving the car and i put it in gear and depress the clutch the car makes a noise like metal on metal. the car was sitting for about 2 month(was getting all the rust repaired underneath the car) and im thinking since it was sitting for 2 month the transmission fluid had gone bad.

anyways can anyone think of any other reasons for this to happen, i didnt have any transmission problems before i parked the car to get the rust work done.thanks.

Could be that rust formed on the flywheel and pressure plate from sitting and will wear off after a few miles.
