Yeah definitely.I'm going to try and see what I can do with out welding tomorrow with the intercooler piping and front mount.have the fans ordered just some shitty ones to have the car up and running as its getting cold here anyways that I will hook up to a spst relay to each 12" pusher(2 of them on the condenser) then to led lit switches I'll mount under the steering wheel.

Quick question.I already tapped and plugged the 2 ports with 1/8 Npt plugs but need to fit a M12x1.5 Chevy v8 temp sensor in that area but they only sell m12x1.5 male to 1/8npt female. What should I do?

Finished the vacuum setup with a sick speed manifold block for wastegate, boost gauge, bov, and map sensor.
Also figuring out the fmic mounting and piping situation.
Any input always welcomed.

Also what about the eBay 2jzgte down pipes? Should clear for me right?

A little trimming of the shifter rod, shift linkage, slap a $40 ebay shifter on top, and boom. It becomes a short shifting trans. The shifter sits in the oem location. Just have to trim about an 1in or 2 depending on your motor/trans mounts.

Ali_SC3 came up with the idea. There is someone who makes a kit that puts the shifter where the black cover is.

Can we have a discussion on oil pan clearance?

I haven't been able to find many threads on it probably because so many people have different mount setups. Currently I'm running the S13 Xcessive swap kit and polyurethane filled OEM 240sx engine mounts and OEM R154 trans mount. I also have a Sikky sway bar and oil pan sits noticeably lower than the bar and subframe, I'll have to measure tonight on exact depth. I'm not crazy low but low enough that I'm scraping the pan every once in a while on the crown of the road. Was going to try and get some aluminum solid mounts made but if there's an easy off-the shelf solution i'm all for it.

Whats everyone else running and how is your clearance?

I'm using the Zerolift mount brackets with Nismo KA motor mounts. The Nismo mounts make the engine sit a bit higher, giving me slight hood clearance issues, but I don't have any problems with my oil pan scraping. I'll see if I can take some pictures when I'm off work.

You can't win with any setup, the pan is clear but your hood will not close or the hood clears but the pan is too low. I have the same issue, I am running the get nuts lab mounts and with sr motor mounts it's too high so, I had to make some home made mounts that clear the hood (barely) but the pan is passing the subframe and swaybar. I just raised the car a bit and said goodbye to flush. Haha

I just tucked my intercooler up under the core support, close to the radiator. I was going to seal the outside edge between the two with weather stripping. However now people are telling me I should move it farther away from the radiator because it's going to heat soak the intercooler? And then some people say it won't and it will be fine and the short piping is better than moving it further away.

I know it's sr, sorry thread :/

Hoping that the intercooler isn't too close to the radiator, I thought closer was better, but now
people are saying I'm just going to heat soak it and have high intake temperatures... FML.

Wouldn't heat be a factor you should worry more about than the length of the intercooler piping? I highly doubt that the small amount of piping that you lost would make up for any heat soak issues that may present themselves. But, I also don't know shit.

That's exactly what I'm wondering about. But I've seen a lot of people do the high mounted/tucked intercoolers and haven't seen any mention of heat soak problems. Javier13's car looks to have it right up nearly against the radiator like mine is.

I could probably move it an inch or so further forward from the radiator, but then there's the issue of sealing it to the radiator, as the weather stripping is no longer going to be able to make up that gap between the two.

If I move it forward, is there a better way to seal the outside perimeter of the intercooler to the radiator?

No issues when the tuner tuned the car. Everything stayed pretty nominal for the conditions we were the car. Pull after pull he didn't see any issues. That was 2 years ago. I haven't connected my computer to the AEM to check it to give you exact numbers. And car won't be running since I fucked up my crank pulley.

One issue I do have is inadequate cooling when hot lapping the car. But JZ always run hot as fuck. At the same time I was cheap at the time and bought 2 ebay fans that can't pull for shit. So I'm planning on getting derale electric fans or cutting up the core support and running a clutch fan w/ an oem shroud.

Car would get up to 240*f after 3 laps. But when I drive the car around town w/ Florida's heat during the summer car only gets up to 195*f max.

Get an xcessive skid plate. Solves everything...

Running currently:

Mount Brackets: Xcessive (trans sits super shitty had to use 1.25" worth of washers to get the engine and trans to sit leveled)

Mounts: Trans oem; Engine xcessive mounts

Sway bar: Sikky

You should contact Xcessive, I know at one point they had a bad run of trans mounts. My trans sits fine with no washers. But thanks dude, looks like I'll be going to their mounts and buying a skid plate.

I did they offered me the same solution I originally came up with, but instead of stacking washer they would get a cylindrical piece of alumn. and throw it on a lathe.

Still doesn't solve the issue..... I've been stuck on my trailer a couple times because of that stupid bracket..............

I always bring car ramps with me to the track. Run the trucks rear tires up on them to get the rear of the trailer down then add a board in front of the trailer ramps. Car goes up even with the front bumper on.
