Car is FINALLY back home after 3 weeks at my friends shop getting some fabrication odds and ends tightened up.
Had to build a whole new transmission tunnel for the GSR. The shifter cover is removeable and we cut it far enough back so that you can clear the input shaft and remove the transmission without removing the shifter. ![]() Got the Radium mounted up and fixed a bunch of crash damage. ![]() ![]() New custom driveshaft which is silly big and overbuilt. ![]() Working on wiring up my super trick flush mount kill switch. Yes, this little button will kill the whole car. It will also light up red so it should be easy to see. I had to take my other setup out to install the wipers. ![]() Another shot of the Radium. This thing is bad ass. ![]() New firewall for the cell. My old setup to the rear window wasn't FD legal and made rear visibility impossible. ![]() New breather tank and lines. Slowly working through the whole car with all new AN lines and fittings. ![]() More crash damage repair. ![]() Also got my injectors cleaned. They were flowing pretty bad and one was unrepairable so we replaced it. Good thing I got that taken care of. ![]() Probably do another update tomorrow. Progress is slow since I sprained my ankle last weekend dirt biking, but I'm making it happen! |

Another 12+ hour day with very little to report unfortunately. This portion of the project seems to lead to taking 1 item off the list, then adding 2 back on. I'm still moving and making progress.
Got the kill switch to light up and work properly. Pretty stoked on this. ![]() Also finally got the axles installed. Apparently not many people run quick change diffs on S13 since driveshaft shop didn't know that S13's were narrower in the rear... ![]() ![]() Also finished up the patch harness for the fuel pumps. ![]() Did a lot more, mostly building and rebuilding AN lines. Checking and double checking things. Overall a productive day. Shouldn't be long now. |

Mega jealous of the Radium setup.

Still so much more to come! Once it's complete I'll do more of a walk around. It's dirty and ugly right now and I'm not happy with it at all, but it's a work in progress. More progress each day.

It's a bit more than just that button.
![]() This is a solid state battery kill switch. Good up to 300 amps, no moving parts, ultra reliable. Basically you can mount this anywhere that's convenient, then pick any button and mount it where you want it. I had 4 battery kill switches die and when that happens your car dies. This has been a good upgrade for reliability and I recommend it. I got mine on Waytek for $150. |

Work work work. I keep moving and getting closer but the energy is running low. Finally got it started back up. Runs great, everything seems perfect. I pop it in gear for the first time and the clutch sinks to the floor. Fluid everywhere. I was not amused.
The interior was looking perfect! Sucks I had to tear it all back down. ![]() ![]() Ended up being poor routing of the clutch lines. They rubbed on the clutch and blew up. Had to pull the tranny out which I really wasn't looking forward to doing, but it ended up being easier than expected. ![]() Also got a bunch of small things done. New latches for my new hatch with my new lexan window. ![]() New wing mounts. Always liked this style. ![]() Also picked up some new safety gear. I'm in love with this visor. ![]() Next I have to put everything back together, test drive, then into paint! |

I love this build. The functionality, cleanliness, quality. Just superb. Definitely my favorite car/build to follow.
I can't say that I'd be willing to put the necessary financial investment to be a privateer in FD, but I'll definitely be rooting for you! |

Made some good progress. Feels like I've been working nonstop.... which I have.
When I started bolting the bell housing back on I noticed that it was pushing on the clutch before I got the bolts all the way down. Such a nightmare. I took a bunch of measurements and it was .4" too thick. I had my friend machine it down and now I have the clearance I need. ![]() Got my fire system installed. I'm disappointed that I didn't do this sooner. It was really easy and much more affordable than I thought it would be. ![]() ![]() With everything going back together I was able to finish the interior and test out my hans device. It actually doesn't feel like it's going to bother me. This car is so safe now it's crazy. It's like when the build a new bridge next to the old bridge, like how did I ever drive on that old bridge? ![]() ![]() ![]() More updates this weekend. I'm taking a stab at building my exhaust. |

You honestly give me so much motivation to go the extra mile to make my car nicer, I love builds like yours because you don't just stop at what's required or generally accepted in our community.

Gotta say man,. your build has been awesome to watch since it started.
Function and Form at the same damn time as hard to come by. All the forward thinking you've done is going to pay off in a pinch,..as your finding out with pulling that tranny off already. Keep shreddin

So many ups and downs this past couple of weeks. Been pushing real hard trying to make it out to Golden Gate Drift round 1 this weekend. Based on the time I'm posting this you can see that I didn't make it
![]() ![]() Basically I installed the clutch slave Friday night. The clearance wasn't right still as when I had it milled down last time I measured on a broken clutch. Got up early Saturday and had it machined down a bit more. Clearance was good on the clutch now, but it was so far back that it actually pushed against the transmission now. When I started torquing the transmission to the bell housing it actually broke the clutch slave. Waste of money and time. I just need to get on the phone Monday and figure out the right part. On the bright side Exedy came through with a quick turnaround on the clutch rebuild. It's in, perfect and ready to thrash! I love these guys! ![]() For the 3 seconds I drove my car last week I found out the exhaust I made was WAY too low. Scrapped the whole thing and went oval tubing. Old is on the right and new on the left. Version 2 actually fits higher than stock. Very happy with it. It's so short it weighs about 15lbs less! ![]() ![]() Also, been working with Dmagic on the livery for this year. As you can see, there is going to be a color change! ![]() I'm real excited about it. I've always wanted a white car. Should be getting into paint next week if I get figure out the clutch slave problem. Back to the garage now. |
