For a couple of years, I had the same problem. Tried/tested all sorts of things. One being the ignition switch. I changed it out. The problem wasn't as bad, but was still there. Months went by, the problem kept getting worse.
I swapped ignition switches again, this time, I didn't hook up all of the shit that was tied into the key hot wire. Car started flawlessly every time. Still does. All of the shit that was tied into that hot wire, I put on a couple of relays. 4 AEM gauges, turbo timer and a Bee*R was cooking the ignition switch.

Moral of the story, don't tie a bunch of shit directly into the hot wire.
