OT but, the Pathfinder hasn't been the dependable family truckster I was hoping for. After almost 3 years of experiencing on-going CVT shitter issues Nissan is finally replacing the whole tranny. I wasn't expecting that when I dropped it off this morning. It's under warranty so it's just more of an inconvenience (try fitting 3 kid seats in a loaner Sentra) than anything.

Trading it in the beginning of December. So long Nissan.

Could have told you that

Don't own anything Nissan after 06 unless it's a true manual

All Nissan cars go through CVT trans

Yup, my Ex had a '14 Sentra. Trans was a problematic POS.

The new TRD-Pro Tacoma looks amazing. I'd have trouble deciding between the manual or auto.

Is it diesel?

Do other markets have to have that exhaust fluid (urea) shit that new diesels have here?

New diesels are steadily becoming more and more lame. They have kinda moved away from a durability focus and have started this lame useless tech arms race that literally no practical truck users care about. Farmers just want shit that runs with the same diesel and upkeep as a fuggin tractor fam. As do contractors and businesses.

Wait. Is there a new Frontier coming or is this based on the 12 year old D40 chassis...

Yes, all markets need Urea. That actually originated in Europe.

Diesel continues to represent a loop whole in most of Europe. However emissions are getting tighter and that is what is driving the Diesel Technology improvements.

The tax systems and subsidies don't exist in the US and Asia and that is why Hybrids have dominated our markets.

Plug-In hybrids are the future.

I cant help but oogle at the Cummins Titan that sits out front of our Nissan dealer every time I drive by. It's black and just looks so good. The price makes me run away screaming though.

Well there you go. Looks lame compared to the old one, or the Taco, Colorado/Canyon.

That hardtop Miata does look hot. But Imma need a factory turbo too for that price.

Agreed. Maybe that's why they're not selling it here. I want a 6spd VQ40 D40 crew cab to daily so bad. But screw the Taco and any of those other trucks with angular wheel wells. No thanks.

So disappointed in Mercedes for polluting their gene pool with Nissan filth.

They already make the greatest most versatile truck in the world.
Wish they would just bring it over here.

All Nissan cars go through CVT trans
What about the straight auto's? You can get the cars with non cut auto.
Only reason asking would be cheap late model grocery getter. Late model Versa's can be had for like 4-6k

Oh and to come back to topic the hardtop Miata does look nice but not enough power for 35k Takes me straight back to the Focus RS.

It's it's not CVT yet your fine. Just after 07 they came in the Maxima.

But like my dad has a Titan that obviously doesn't have a CVT and we have had two armada with no trans problems.

Since your talking Versa have you looked at the equivalent Fit? They also go for cheap. And I know we are Nissan guys here but we all are smart enough to know Nissan won't out run a Honda. If my daily dies it's either new engine from the junk yard or. Find some money and pick up a Fit Sport

This.

I'm actually trying to find a manual GD3 Sport as a daily. 60 miles a day is hurting my pockets when it comes to gas in my E90

Ok ok ok, this is worth discussing. MB...current partner with Nissan just announced a new 3.0 INLINE 6 pumping out 400hp and 500 ft lbs.

http://www.autoblog.com/2016/10/31/2...-six-cylinder/

All of a sudden a MB/Nissan calabo on a Z/??? doesn't sound all that horrible. Return of the 300zx??

Mercedes inline-6's are the ultimate under-the-radar engines. They could be a great cheaper alternative to JZ's and RB's if there was a larger aftermarket.

The M103 and M104 can be found at any junkyard for 200$, they are easy to wire/tune, and they handle 500hp on stock internals.

Or better yet, go with a mechanical OM606 Superturbodiesel.
