I'm amateur as can be, only ever rented a board. I'm 5'11", 190. I'm not particularly interested in tricks and such, maybe a jump here and there while on ski slopes. What size board should I get, and/or how should I determine this? I'm going to buy off Craigslist. I'm just going to be going to the local ski slope over the winter, not going to get too serious, don't need anything special.

I ride a 158 and my build is similar to yours. I don't go to crazy maybe hit a jump/box jump here and there but mostly just hauling ass down some powder.

If your looking for a cruise board, 157-159 is what you should look into. Also, camber, reverse camber, flat kick, etc are some variables you need to consider

True, but I like the variety of snow stuff @skidazzle. Clothing usually has a wide selection with fair prices.

Can I revive this thread? It's that time of year again, and for us in Southern California I think we've already gotten more snow than the last couple years combined. Has anyone taken a trip yet? I tried to go up Mt High after work last night but I got there and they were closed so I had a very spirited (angry) drive back down the mountain and to my house.

My base (Edwards AFB) is taking a trip to Mammoth this weekend, unfortunately I already have plans so I can't go with. Does anyone know/has anyone ever snuck by the chain up stations around Mt High?
