Current turbo is an eBay T04E, (AR .50/63) that's lasted for 25k miles and now it's time to throw it in the trash.
What equivalent can I upgrade to WITHOUT having to retune? I'm leaning toward Precision or Holset. Budget is $1k max.

Beats the hell out of me. I was tuned, (Martin) around 5 years ago w/ this turbo.

I'm running 10lbs if it helps any. Car makes 277hp w/o boost a controller.

Try a Garrett 2871r for that price range you can find a used one all day. AND if the core goes bad down the road, you can trade it into a Garrett authorized dealer for a fresh core with a warranty for about 450...
And you could do a .64 or a .86 housing depending on your goals.
