The Republican House chairmen are at it again (i.e. Devin Nunes). This time they want Rod Rosenstein to hand over Comey's memos unredacted. The problem with that is that these memos are evidence in an active FBI investigation, which DOJ does not willingly share. If Rosenstein refuses it can set up the precedent for him to get fired. If he complies, it could set him up for conduct violations...thus setting him up to get fired.
As for the US attorney office in SDNY, the interim AG (handpicked & interviewed by Trump) had to recuse himself from the Cohen investigation. His interim status will expire in a few weeks. At that point he is either formally nominated for Senate confirmation or replaced by another nominee. We already know how Trump feels about Session's recusal, so it probably won't be different from this recusal as well. Also the Senate leader confirmed he will not bring to the floor a bill to protect Mueller. I'm really curious to see how all of this plays out. Quote:
