I want to swap an sr20det into an s13 chassis, BUT I live in California and have to go under CA smog regulation crap. Has anybody done a DET swap and passed?? I still want to be able to register it and have it pass smog n everything, so its kind of legal. Can it be tuned to pass smog??

It's not a legal motor.

If you can find a smog station willing to overlook the visual, then the SR is able to pass the sniffer test, as long as you have it in top notch condition and a cat.

And please, DO NOT ASK (online) where you can find a smog station willing to do this.

The best chance of getting away with that would be to..... Go to one of those instant smog places, they just to a quick check with your exhaust. They don't even pop the hood!

This might not be the same at every place so I can't garauntee that it will work.

I live in NV.... No smog check for me HAHAHHAHA

i live in CA also, the smog check makes me give up the SR swap for my car... but i wanna know if the greddy bolt on turbo kit pass the smog?

the status of the kit is "pending," but i've heard that people have passed with the kit.
