Ahh nope. I can assure you that's not the case. S13 is M6 and S14 is M8. I have drilled and tapped more than half the holes in my cylinder head because even at the FSM-specified 60 in-lb of torque, I am still stripping threads clean out of the head.

Nissan must have realized this was asinine and enlarged the bolt interface to fix this for the S14. Altimas have different style bolts as well FWIW. Have yet to find a DOHC pickup in the yard.

I have never really thought of torquing valve cover bolts at all. I may have missed that on the FSM, so its suppose to be 60 ft/lb?
