I think Dakota Digital Released a one box easy wire for CD009 GPS Speed.

https://www.dakotadigital.com/index....rod/prd837.htm

SPEED 2 is a sine wave signal for most older speedometers.
Dakota Digital speedometers, and dash systems, can use either output.

Based on the manual, I can set it to a 16K PPM signal.....

https://www.dakotadigital.com/pdf/GPS-50-2.pdf

Then I wire it to the cluster. Once I have the signal wire from the Dakota, do I just wire back into the speed sensor harness?
I guess to where the sensor use to be which is on my KA24E harness, tranny harness Y/G wire?

This is such a great thread, wanted to bump it. Drove the car around 1-3 gear no problem. Still in tuning phase so hopefully get more gears soon. Reverse is also fine.... I am running on a 4.3 final, I think its too much gear.... so will need to go back to the original 4.1..... at least I kept it.

also just purchase the dakota digital speed..... will report back if it all worked out to get speed on the speedometer.

Can't have too much gear! It brings all the skidz! haha

I have an R154 paired with factory LSD S13 diff and I find it a decent combination. The trans has very long gears and the diff is shorter. Tbh I could go for an even shorter combo. I want more tyre spin and the 245s in the rear are just too much to break loose until I'm in boost.

Planned to go CD009 with LS1 and collins adapter but the RHD was interfering with mounting the engine and the firewall was too much in the way so switched to 1JZ/R154 swap

Hey All,

Installed and it worked!!! The install was soooo easy. But you do need to remove the dash. Pulled constant 12v and acc 12v from the ignition tumbler. Then ground from anywhere. Then cut and wire in a wire from the dash (wire 6 y/lavendar) to speed 2 which is a sine wave and 16ppm setting.... now you have a gps and accelerometer speedo.

Thanks for sharing this! Your post led me to buy the same exact Dakota Digital unit along with the optional antenna. It?ll be nice to have a working Speedo again with a soon to swap Srvq kit.

Cool it works perfectly.... Very easy to wire... I forgot if I put it on Speed 1 or Speed 2..... and I used 20k PPM.... (I think its speed 2).

I have a kph jdm nismo cluster. But works perfectly.... Just doesn't work in a garage hahaha....

Are you using the optional antenna for range? I have a dash cover with a ton of velcro to hold it down. I plan to mount the antenna in the center of the dash under the cover.

Also, your previous post mentioned using 16k PPM. Are you using the 20k PPM setting because of the kph cluster?

It could be because of KPH, that would make sense. Those are hardcoded PPMs in the module, so you can try a few settings.

I would assume under the cover is fine.... but I am not a radio technician so I have no idea..... I have to use the optional antennae because the module itself is setting behind the radio on the tranny tunnel. Its deep in the dash where there a lot of metal and radio antenna and grounding stuff...

I think the optional antennae under the dashboard cover overlay SHOULD work but its not very flat. Its about same thickness as a zippo lighter and about half the size.....
