S14 Upper Catalytic Converter

In the process of restoring my kouki and needing to replace my bad upper catalytic converter. OEM ones are made of unobtainium, however it looks like there is an aftermarket MagnaFlow one?

It says it replaces the upper one and looks to be the correct part number, but there are zero reviews of it anywhere I can find. Just curious if anyone has one or know if it even works. $300 is a lot more palatable than $1900+. Yes I am aware I can register my car where I don't have to get emissions done or can get it registered as a collector car and avoid emissions, that is not what I am looking to do.

I would call one of their customer service reps and have them verify that is a bolt in piece. If so I would be interested in purchasing as well.

So I took your advice and called them, doesn't sound like it is a replacement for the upper. Oh well, sounds like the best course of action is to just take it to a muffler shop and have them cut and re-weld on a replacement.

That's a shame. When looking over their catalog it would seem that they make plenty of OEM replacements that have the down pipe welded on for other models. Don't know why they cant do the same for the S14.

After looking over the specs, the stated 12.25" length was too short.

So I have found this, it lists it as only for the 95-96 but it is a s14 front catalytic converter. Not sure what the differences were between the kouki and the zenki, but maybe it could work? Only about $150 on ebay.

At only $150 it worth a shot.
