Alternator Charging + Cluster Issues after LED install

Regretfully I tried to install LED bulbs into my S15 Cluster and somewhere along the way things have gone really poorly.

Quick note at the top: While installing the new LED's - I remember smelling a very faint smell of electrical burning (?) - it might have been my imagination and I don't want to lead the answer at all but I figured it might help in diagnosing.

I pulled the cluster out, popped out the bulbs installed the LED's and popped the cluster back in.

First issue is the clock illumination and warning lights no longer function. The only functioning lights are the gauges and turn signals. I then decided to remove all LED's and revert back to the OEM bulbs for testing and the clock and warning lights are still not functioning.

Second issue came about when I took the car for a drive and I noticed the headlights were really dim, the battery died shortly after and I've since replaced the alternator. With the new P2M alternator installed, I'm still only getting 11.5v at the battery with the engine idling (lights and blow motor on).

What I'm reading is there is a pretty important bulb in the cluster related to the battery light that could be the source of all these issues. I'm going to try a few known working bulbs in the battery position after work today and see if this solves my problems but is there anything else you guys would suggest?

Thanks!
