How many of you run a front mount, with a stock radiator?

Will running a front mount, with a stock radiator be a problem? do any of you guys have any over heating problems with a front mount, and a stock radiator?

i run a blitz fmic with a stock radiator, no overheating problems, then yet again, i dont drift or keep my engine near red line for too long at a time, maybe an occasional redline, but i dont hold it there.

just run a good mix of coolant and a good fan. should have no problems, ogodluck

i have a greddy FMIC with the stock '89 radiator and havent had any overheating problems! The only thing that i chaged was put on an electric fan on the radiator!

I had an electric fan on the stock rad and a FMIC and I overheated after 10 minutes of lapping.

I have a blitz LM FMIC and had a stock radiator w/o any problems. But I just got a koyo so that I can take it to the track and not worry about it.

I'd say you will be fine for drag and street, but not for drift and track.

right now i have a stock clutch, stock rad, and fmic, autometer gauge, and yes it is true that stock gauges are useless, in my early days of sr, it overheated due to onlyh half the amount of coolant it should have had, and temps were 220 or higher, and stock gauge said good, SO, I am right above 180 now and havent gone over, now also need to tell you the warmest ive driven is probably 50 degrees out or so, but with an E fan i dont see you should have any problems.

I have a GReddy V FMIC, stock SR radiator w/shroud, only time I got anywhere close to overheat was hauling balls thru the grapevine (along with 5hr's of straight driving) in the peak of summer.

Shroud, a clean cooling system, and good coolant and you should be fine... but then if you plan to sit on/around your redline all the time, things would be different.

You will need an electric fan, but if you plan on drifting or anything keep an eye on the temp gauge cause it will raise. If you just do normal driving or highway pulls, anything straight you will be fine.

actually from our exp (mine and a specific shop) we discovered the oem fan shroud and fan shroud keeps the the system cooler, i actually have lower overall temps and a smaller opperating variation w/ stock radiator (83-86c, i have to make a hard run in 95f + to get to 86c), blitz lm, and shroud/ fan than people with electric fans and a koyo (82-89c+). The e-fan techically is less powerful because it does not use a large shroud to cover the whole area of the radiator, either the single types cover 70-80% of the radiator or the dual types cover all of it but have a smaller shroud thus less air can be pulled through.

just my 2 cents.
