HKS Hi power ka24de or sr20??

I won an auction on ebay a week ago for a HKS hi power catback exhaust 65mm new in box for $376. So a week later the guy emails me sayin he only has the sr20det 85mm one in stock. So my question is will the sr20det version fit the same as the ka24de one? Physically will it bolt up the same?? I'm gatherin parts for a KA-t,so I'm not worried about the back pressure power loss, just the fitament issue. thanks guys

theres isnt such thing as back pressure on the KA. it a matter of velocity. it will be just a matter of loudness. gains would be about the same.

Actually, gains will be different. correct me if im wrong, but turbo engines with better flow will have a much more drastic difference in horsepowers compared to an N/A car with a better flow. until you do the Ka-t.

I have an Sr20 and just installed 3 inch from down pipe all the way to muffler (even a straight test pipe) and the thing probably freed up atleast 25 horsepowers to the wheels. i felt a HUGE differene.

3" catback on a KA [or any typical n/a engine] will increase about 15, if not, 10 hp's at most.

If the tubing is 3inches or more, yea it affects it. 2.5 inch if you dont have turbo, other than that, youve gone too big. Plus that shit is gonna be louder than n/a. HKS aint that loud. but yeah they fit.All s14 exhaust regardless if its for turbo bolt up the same unless welding is involved.

Yeah, I guess if you don't want the extra hp you should go with 2.5". But if you're not a retard, it should be 3". A 3" on KA usually gives around 10-15 hp. Forget what the old v8 guys told you. Even on the tiny B16, replacing the secondaries with a 3", 3-foot, dump pipe exiting the car, will yeild around 14hp and 12 ft-lbs tq. Get the biggest exhaust your app will allow. Your header should keep good exhaust gas velocity.
